(Liz) Well, today we have a topic that we came up willy nilly with, but I'm really, really excited for it. Like, I'm not gonna act like we planned it. Yeah. We're so spontaneous. And we're so fun. We're not coached at all. Yeah, we, you know, we just bring up our own ideas. And we're shocked every week. We are shocked every week. But yeah, we want to talk about cancel, cancel culture, but not in like a way that's like, gonna be too hard hitting just sort of like people that we are. You know, we don't want to be canceled. People would be deeply upset about being canceled or anything happening. People we feel strongly attached to and a negative or a positive way. I don't know. Negative way we might come on, Mike, come on.
(PJ) I also Yeah, I made a list of people that I just like, love, like
(Jaden and PJ) that's adorable, like, I guess Yeah, like people that like I wouldn't want to be canceled, but also just like, people like most mostly like actors and stuff that I just like, of course.
(Liz and Jaden) Absolutely. Yeah. So I think we're gonna start off on a positive note. We're trying to be better. We're trying to be better these days. We had hater alert. But now you know, we're all about love. But don't worry. Don't worry, we're gonna get around to hate alert. So can I just say, you know, go for it started off go for it.
(Liz) celebrities that I would I put specifically said fall apart. If they were canceled, I would just fall apart about it. And number one, this is like really random, but it was the first thing that popped to my mind is Dolly Parton. Yeah, I just really like her because you know, she's such a icon, a legacy, really. She's such like a sweet person and a sweet presence that like I can't see it happening Belle. But if it did, it would be like, Whoa, well, in the reason I put in parentheses next week would be a contender to get canceled because because maybe you know, too much of a Southern belle if you would. I just I just get worried that one day, something's gonna come out. So that's why it immediately popped in my head. It's a fine line, the whole Southern belle charm. It's a fine line that well, that was a really good one. That was a good one. I would be really upset. That's like my number one person that I want to interview like, a hair salon. Because I feel like we would just you know, we would hit it off. Yeah, I can. I can see that. Like, so my whole my Halloween costume. One of them this year is going to be Paris Hilton in a simple life. Like farmer. I'm gonna have the pitchfork. Yeah. And my friend Alex is going to be Nicole Richie. That's awesome. Yeah, I'm super excited about that. And then my other person is Kim Kardashian. Okay, just because they say falls in the same line. I just feel like she's so sweet.
(Jaden) I liked so disagree. Okay, go ahead. I so just I'm feeling like she had the content. I kind of feel like I yeah, let's let's get into it. I don't. I feel like she would. She's probably she's done. Why? I mean, like what she did to like Taylor Swift alone was pretty bad. That's true, but I feel like that was more common. You know what she was part of it. It was niq situation. Talking about Taylor Swift. No, say no. I don't like Kim Kardashian. I played her mobile game for a long time. How many levels should you be? I honestly, I have no idea. But I got I think as far as you can, like in the game. No, no, hold on. I got I got as far as you can without spending money for it to be enjoyable. I did not vote in that way. Yeah. I do feel like you can go through episode with, like, spending the gems, but there's like a limit in the Kim Kardashian game. Yeah. Where it's like, I'm not making any of like the fame points. Like everything's happening, right. Anyway. What a tangent.
(PJ) I feel like for Kim Kardashian, she's just so big that like, she can't get canceled.
(Jaden) I just think I do think she's just like, so smart. And then like, you know, she has that whole PR thing behind her that it's like, it's probably like, I don't know, I feel like she's sneaky. And I can see it happening and I but like, if something did come out, like Kim Kardashian did a terrible thing. I'd be like, oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I just feel like she's just the best. Well, you know what, I'm gonna change my answer. Okay. Kris Jenner. Yeah. I'll ever do My son, honestly put a little attaching I'm so sorry. I don't mean to attack you on the time. But okay, I changed my answers Christian. I didn't mean to pressure you to change your answer I just I just think got a little lively debate is good for you know, any medium?
(Liz) I absolutely agree Jaden. I would like to fight with some of yours. I don't know what they are, but I'm sure I'll Okay. Sounds good.
(Jaden) Um, you're gonna agree with my first one, Emma Chamberlain. Agreed agree. Yeah. Um, she I listened to her podcast pretty regularly. I watched her YouTube videos so consistently when they were coming out. I'm like, I'm like, I feel like she's one of my good friends personally. Yeah, I remember one time I was listening to your podcast, this was like a year or so ago. And she like mentioned using this like shampoo hair brand. That was bad. And I was like, like, should I DM her? Should I tell her that it's gonna cause her hair to fall off? Like you guys, friends. But yeah, she also did a podcast about like, how when an episode about how like she is the subject of parasocial relationships a lot. Yeah, I was like, yeah, she created the brand. You know, I mean, I'm not saying it's her fault she created that. Absolutely. crushes having this conversation with friends. Like, think about all the girls who are wearing like the Teddy jackets. Yeah, like after like she creates. She was such, she was such an influencer. And now, like, I'm you everyone just seemed to like, want to be her. She was made. She's such a trendsetter. Yeah, um, but she just seems so genuine. And I just feel like, you're just so genuine. And also, I'd be very upset.
(PJ) I feel like the what? Oh, my God. So what adds to this also is like, she's our age, you know? Yeah. So it's like, it's like, people grew up with, like, grew up with her the past like six years, you know?
(Liz) Yeah, absolutely. And like, I see people commenting about her like editing style, and being like, Oh, she seems so sad. I know. Like, what do you mean? Like, that's, it's just the change of like an editing salad. Because people are so like, feel deeply connected with 16. I remember that she hired an editor. And she was like, I have to do this because I have no time when I do it myself. It's like for my mental health. And everyone was like, it's not the same. It's just different. And that's so funny. It's so funny. Because most YouTubers also they don't edit their own videos. That was something like specific that she did when she was like, first kind of coming up. And I think she went back to editing her ones. But obviously now she posts like, once every couple months, and I really enjoy them. She's like, What? 22? No, she's Yeah. 2121 22 She started when she was 16. You're gonna change so much. Yeah, in that time period. I mean, even like the last two years for me, I'm like, Oh, I feel like I've changed in the past month. Yeah
(Jaden) it was like, I'm not a I'm not the same person I was last year was. Yeah, so yeah, that was probably my number one just because I feel like she's a close and personal friend. Um, some other ones I have. I went off, I went off the topic a little bit. And I want to talk about couples that I've parasocial relationships with, because it's also on like, a cancel level for each of them individually. But also if they broke up, I'd be like, Oh, that's really upsetting. Number one, ASAP Rocky and Ariana. Yeah, they're perfect. They're perfect. I would I they make the so much sense to me. That if they like I saw that they got together and then I was like, Yes, finally finally soulmates? love Israel. Let's talk about Rihanna not being a personal person, though, because I feel like she's so shrouded in mystery. Oh, yeah, definitely. I completely agree. I would be very upset if she were canceled. But I don't feel personally like, I'm not like, oh, yeah, like if I saw her on the street, I would not go up to her and ask for a picture, I think because I would just be like, Oh my God. That's Rihanna. That's a really you know what? That's a really good topic, like, people that you would not go up to because you like respect them too much. Oh, yeah. Rihanna, Beyonce. Um, Tyler the Creator is my favorite artists in the world that He's so mean.
(Liz) Well, that's for like a different reason. Like you're kind of scared of them. It's not like,
(PJ) also ASAP and re honest. Kids are so cute.
(Jaden) There's so yeah, the whole family. It's a parasocial relationship. I'm like, oh my god to babysit for them. babies, babies.
(Liz) But I'm not talking about Emma Chamberlain. That my Chamberlain role model broke up. I know really hurt me. It's upsetting. Big fan of Emma, big fan of role model great artists and I was really excited about that. Yeah. And that was I they were together for a while and especially since like most recently, like, recently they came in was like, Okay, we're like finally gonna put our stuff in To like yours, because they were private for so long and then like, what? Like a couple, not even a couple maybe like a year ago? Not even not even more like, hey, like, here's our like Vogue interview that finally like confirming that we're together. Yes that a year ago that felt so recent. Maybe it was this year? I don't know. I'm not sure.
(PJ) And also like she was in his music video and then she also filmed a different music video for him. Yeah, you know,
(Jaden) also, I just feel like she's been through so much with the whole like, Ethan Dolan thing on the internet parasocial group, right? Yeah. Twins James Charles and Emma Chamberlain. Oh, absolutely. The sister squad. What in arrow what in here? I was so invested. I've never wanted to, like I wanted them to be together so bad. And I guess you can say that's also part of like a parasocial relationship is like wanting to know what happened to their friendship and thinking that you're owed it. Right?
(Liz) Absolutely. And she did the same thing with her finger from before was like, animal Loesch le Suma new models for forever. 21 Now, I guess Interesting. Yeah, no, I when I worked there, like last summer, I was like, le le. And that's the crazy thing. I'm like, Ellie, what are you doing? You're like, I act like I know her. Yeah, I don't know, her modeling contracts. You know, no, no, her manager. But Leigh, I felt like I was like, you're above this girl. Like, what's going on? I want to know what happened to that friendship to Yeah, I would give a lot of money. Yeah, lots of money. But it's funny. It's like, everyone was like, you owe us you owe us this. And it's like, if I had to share it with the world. Why my like, high school friend group. Do Rokoff that would be awesome. Imagine, yeah, I can barely tell myself that sometimes. I'm like, oh, man, like, our friendship broke up. Like I can't imagine like going online and like, having to tell people about that. Yeah. of people. And, you know, they're super involved. So yeah,
(Jaden) the pandemic definitely furthered the whole parasocial relationship, right? Yeah. Especially with the sister squad that was, was that pandemic era? No, it was before before I feel like 20 but when they broke up when they broke up, like when the sister squad stopped talking to each other,
(PJ) that was like, 2018 2018. Yeah. Okay. I think they're sorry. I think their videos like got more popular throughout COVID.
(Liz) Definitely. And like daily vlogs that was right before the pandemic like yeah, teen 2019 That is like the breeder of like parasocial relations. Oh, absolutely. Like going through and like, this is going to like things that I want to cancel that I'm going to try and keep it positive right now. Like, talking about parasocial relationships, like family vlogs. Oh, yeah. And that's like, but that's like for millennial. Yeah. That's a personal relationship for like a millennial woman. Absolutely. I I do feel like it does create, like a bit like a weird or parasocial relationship. Because you brought it don't get me started on family. vlogs because I was just about to say we can do a whole episode on family walks. And maybe we will. Who knows? Who knows. But um, yeah, those are crazy. I have another couple. Yes. Um, Cody Ko and Kelsey. Oh,
(PJ) I love them as a couple.
(Jaden) I know I love both individually.
(Liz and PJ) Do they have their baby? You know, in January in January,
(Jaden) what I found out that she was pregnant. I was so like, when I found out they were getting married, or I found out she was pregnant. I freaked out and was like, it was like finding out like your cousin is like, pregnant. You know what I mean? Yeah, so if they if anything happened to them, I that would be very difficult. Um, Blake Lively route, Ryan Reynolds. Oh, but that's a classic one. I don't feel like I need to go super in depth about that. As a given. They're just so proud on social media with her, you know, antics and love for each other. Oh, yeah. So those are those are mine. It was mostly couple centric.
(Liz) Yeah, I'm like, I feel very owed an explanation. On Andrew Garfield and Emma stones. Oh, yeah. govern the relationship. And like, I don't even feel bad about that one. Because I need to know. Yeah, like, I know that we're like criticizing parasocial relationships. I don't care. That's what I need to know. It was like a shot of espresso. Thanks, guys. Work on my accent. I totally agree.
(PJ) Okay, so my positive Okay, so individual people. First off, I think is Greta Gerwig. Oh my gosh. Just like not even just because like Barbie, you know, but like all the movies. Yeah. produced. Yeah.
(Liz and Jaden) Something came out about her. Like I could Don't watch like ladybird without love women. I love her entire catalog. It's so good.
(PJ) I actually watched the movie the other day. It's called Frances Ha. Yeah. So good. Oh, you should really watch this on Netflix.
(Jaden and Liz) Let me write it down. That's, that's like a letterbox tweak you needed in there. Okay, so like, do you want to get your letterbox? I need to get my letterbox out? For sure. Yeah.
(PJ) Another one is Jordan Peele. Yeah, I love him. I get a writer like comedy and also for he's such a genius. Yeah. And like, I get to see, these are just people I like. Yeah. But like I and I love his interviews when he explains like his movies. I feel like I'm with him.
(Liz) Well, he's been around for so long to and he's went through so many different arrows, that it's like it would be unfathomable. If something like were to come out about him and then you're like, I think yours are interesting, because it's like, separating the art from the artists type of thing like Would ya? Would you be able to separate the art from the artist came out about Jordan Peele.
(PJ) I don't know. I mean, I think I would still I think I would still watch his old movies or like or his skits, you know, yeah, appeal. But I mean, I would have to see what he produces after you know
(Jaden and Liz) such a such a hot topic separating art from the artist. Mean, Griffin did a whole episode of the dinner table about that. Really? Yeah. I'll
(PJ) show you on with my couples. Yes. Yeah. Okay, so I'm out there. First one. I thought it was John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Oh, yeah. You know, I see all see pictures and videos of them together. And they're just so cute together and made it for each other.
(Liz) They are Yeah. I would say like, I just thought of when I didn't have anything written down, but not even like, I'd be so upset if they broke up. But like, I just analyze them is Tom Holland and Zendaya
(PJ) Yeah, so my list. Oh my gosh, yes. Okay.
(Liz) Just because like, I feel like I thought they were PR for a while. You don't like now I don't because it's like they've been together for too long now. I don't know because I'm thinking about all the Spider Man prs? Yeah. Dance was 10,000% in a PR relationship with Tobey Maguire. Tobey Maguire will not be able to pull KEARSON dance your Are you kidding me? He's spider man. He is. That's a Spider Man effect, but he's like the worst. That's another topic. That's so I don't think you could Kim McGuire though, because I don't think he does anything. Yeah. I really hope that like us making this episode isn't like jinxing. Like creating a premonition. Perhaps.

Like I think Megan the stallion like hurt her knee or something like and it was in order already hates Megan the stallion.
(Jaden) it wasn't ones that she hated. It was like, I you don't know exactly what it was. But it was like a hit. Like, all these celebrities are getting called out. Or they're they're doing the same thing that I got called out for which I don't even know what that was. Yeah. And then she was like, what? It wasn't even to like put them down. I was just like, so you're gonna excuse it when Megan the stallion does it. But I don't know if it was like talk. I don't know talking about like, I'm trying to jolly openly or something or you're looking for thinking about Lana Del Rey with her seethrough mask during the pandemic. She's still gonna get canceled. Like, I'm sorry. I was listening to her on the way here. I love LA No. Yeah, she's, and that's one of the uncontrollables Yeah, that's one separate art from the artist. It's just like seeing her life was just like the best experience and it was the best experience in the world. And it was just a crowd of a bunch of like, other 20 year old girls sobbing.

(PJ) And she was also unwilling grace. He was one of the main characters. I never grace. Yeah, I will actually have never seen it. However, my parents would watch it when I was a little kid. And then apparently I would when I was like four years old, I would go around the house saying, just Jack says that's one of the slogans.
(Liz) talking about like, couples that are in like shows together. Yeah, this would also be one of my parasocial ones is like, all the characters from It's Always Sunny. They're like all married. So like the guy who plays Mac and the girl plays D. They're married. The Charlie Day. Number one celebrity crush, Charlie Day. And like the woman who plays the waitress are also married. Oh, yeah. And so I just I feel like I would be really upset if they were to break up because like, yeah, it would ruin the vibe of the show. And second of all, like, I don't know, I just feel like they're perfect. Then. Every single episode, we go back to celebrity Gosh, always a celebrity. I always have somebody that I need to talk about. Of course, a long list of course. Celebrity crushes. So yeah, of course. Um, should we move on to ones that we hate? Once that we have pair social beef with peers. Yes. I honestly, some of these aren't even parasocial beef. It's I just don't like them. Good. We're on the same page. Okay. Yeah, like I honestly don't have like beef with I am celebrities I have beef with but for like real reasons. Like, Mia. You made a great like two songs and then you're an anti Vaxxer like, Yeah, but like you did the canceling for you. I didn't have to do that. These people are not cancel yet. And I'm going to cancel them. I'm gonna dig up some dirt. This is us. No knocking. None. Should I start on? Yeah. Joe Joey King. Yeah, just because punchable face from the beginning. And I don't know some. Some of the better but I mean, she's not a bad actress. I think it's just the kissing booth. The kissing booth. She's not that bad. I've seen other things she was in on what was that one movie she was on where it was the Ramona and yeah. But now that you mentioned that, but now that you mentioned it, Ramona went crazy. So they're always playing that on the Disney Channel. Yeah. I ate it up every time. Yeah, I think it's just because she has a long line of like unlikable characters. My next one is Taylor Lautner. Really? Why do I love Twilight? Right. Like, I love Twilight. And there's something about Tijuana and that just doesn't sit right with me. That's not a reason to cancel someone confident. No, honestly. I feel like that's it you don't even have to go into the canceling thing. You could just name her as someone who you pair socially don't Demi Lovato Yeah, I just get the Eric. It was the show that like she was looking for like aliens. Or whatever. Or maybe it was

I think your social relationships with um, I think it was just like, it came on coincidentally, at the time where I was like, I'm too old for Disney Channel. And that's probably what it was. If it were to come out now. I wouldn't care. And if it were to come out a litt le bit earlier, I probably would have loved it. So
(Liz) I will say though, like Anthony looks more pleased. Girl Meets World came out at the same time. And I was like, I'm too old for Dizzy journal. But I still liked that better than living Maddie. I hate chromates world. Okay, let's talk about it. Why? You know what? I'm not gonna try and like put words in your mouth. Like, why? It's gonna be like, is it because of this person? And I'm like, I don't want to speak on it is because of who? Rowan Blanchard plays Riley No, it's just like the show.
(Jaden) I think it's because I liked Boy Meets World. And the world is just like a completely. It just feels a lot younger. And it feels a lot more like, dumbed down and the whole like, they're they did that. What was the one episode about? Um, I don't know, they just did. Episodes really, really philosophically try to be really philosophical. And like, the characters are just really like simplified. And what is it? That is the net Philander effect for like a character that just ends up becoming like it starts off as a certain character and ends up just becoming like a caricature of themselves. Like, just like one quality about them overtakes you. And I feel like it started off like that. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You know, what show has that. The Office? Absolutely. Office has that effect. 10,000 10,000 person see it all the way through like with them? Specifically? Kevin's character? Yeah. Like got almost like, offensive. Yeah.
(PJ) And also, also friends with Joey. Yeah, like season one. He was like, he was Loki smart, you know. And then season nine. It was like,
(Jaden) it was like, he can't even count. Right? Yeah. I think that's just such a this is a tangent. I feel like it's just such a cop out to have like, and here's this one character who's just super stupid. And that's the whole thing. They're just so DOM haha. We're laughing because they're dumb. It's just so they're weird. Oh my gosh, they say the most crazy. Yeah. I do have the office though. Sorry. Yeah. No, but they definitely have that sort of effect on the show. So yeah, but in Girl Meets World I hadn't I haven't even watched it enough to have so much of a strong opinion on I think I've just seen a lot of tick tock clips and that's my problem, too. They've been on my for you page recently. Yeah, and and foreign clips. Maybe it's because I keep stopping and watching them maybe. I usually I usually have the algorithm works.
(PJ) I've never seen a scene from live and Matt are not even living Maddie Girl Meets World nurse. Either of them.
(Liz) Were you like a Nickelodeon kid or something? Totally. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. See my like, of course, I love to iCarly in like Big Time Rush was good, too. But like my one show on Nickelodeon. That was like, victorious. Victorious. I think that makes a lot of sense. Yeah. It's actually I don't think we all sin. No, I love victorious. This is so funny. Because on my list, we're literally talking about Disney Channel shows like we're experts. And all my lists says all Disney adults. Yeah, canceling all of them cancel. Yeah. I don't know how we could simultaneously do that. Like systematically, like we have. Yeah. They've been aired out enough. Yeah. And then I also had Kourtney Kardashian. Okay, because I just current Travis Barker. Drive me They're the opposite of my parasocial couple. Makeup gone. Like just gone like goodbye? Yeah. That's no no, no more hate or alert. Yeah, like why like every day like on the Daily Mail, it's like, here's 1000 Jews, Cornell to coffee. They're riding on one moped. And I'm like, oh, like, why, like, why are they doing that?
