O.K. unpacks a comedy show titled  I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue and a 2013 Canadian dark comedy movie titled No Clue.

What is The 405 Coffee Break with O.K. Solberg?

Greetings 405 listener!

The 405 airs over KMMR Radio Station. At 5 Minutes past 4 PM. Normally each M-F week day of the year. Here on the website we'll get it posted for you within a few hours, normally.

Your neighbor and website maintainer,
D.J. Rasmussen

OK Solberg:

Welcome to the 4:05 coffee break. Guys, get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, or bottled water. Let's see what's happening out there. Spring wheat, $5.63 a bushel. 550 pounds steer calf, $3.95 on the top end.

OK Solberg:

A butcher hog in Iowa, 58Ā¢ a pound, and a 100 pound fat lamb in Billings, $2.15. But guys, there's more, much more. I just wanna tell you this, with my helpful friends, I never run out of topics to cover here on the 4:05. Why? It was just this morning as I drank coffee with my buddies.

OK Solberg:

Danny Martin said to Mike Lowney, I know he'll write something. I just hope he doesn't use our names, Danny said, so I won't. I'll keep them anonymous. I guess they're a little camera shy. Now, don't tell my friends, see, even if I don't have something picked out until the day, I can write these things up in about three minutes.

OK Solberg:

So see, here's the deal. I don't just have my Malta friends to assist in selecting topics, I have a friend in Longmont, Colorado who is a huge help. Even earlier this morning, I visited with him on the phone and I asked him if he had any ideas for the 4:05 And not like my other two friends, I didn't get a no or a what? No.

OK Solberg:

My friend down in Longmont is much more agreeable and he quickly said, I have no clue. Good one, guys, did you realize there is a show called I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue? And it's a BBC radio comedy panel game billed as the antidote of panel games. It consists of two teams of two comedians being given silly things to do by the host. The show was launched way back in April 1972 as a parody of radio and TV panel games and it's still running to this day.

OK Solberg:

And it's broadcasted on BBC Radio four and the BBC World Service. With friends like mine, these episodes nearly write themselves. You know, in this day and age of technology, we too can pull up an episode of I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. I did it myself just this morning. See, this is a current event.

OK Solberg:

One of the things they are known for doing on I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue is to sing a popular song using the tune of another popular song as a melody. Say for example, guys listen, sing Baa Baa Black Sheep to the tune of I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, give it a try. On the pilot episode, they opened with two of their stars singing the words of three blind mice to the tune old man river. The radio show, I'm sorry, I haven't a clue, has over 2,000,000 listeners on Radio four and its recording sessions typically fill a 1,500 seat theater within a week of being advertised. At least one recording for the Spring of 2006 filled all its seats within three hours, and the London recording of the Autumn series in that year sold out in ten minutes.

OK Solberg:

Although there are 12 Clue shows broadcast per year, these are the results of just six recording sessions. With two programs being recorded back to back, The show was recently voted the second funniest radio program ever after Orvin Solberg's The 405. No. The second funniest radio program ever after the Gong Show. Well, what a great idea from my friend in Longmont.

OK Solberg:

Now, we've all had our horizons expanded because of his good comment, and that's not saying anything about the movie titled No Clue, which is a 2013 Canadian dark comedy film. Okay, girls, girls, listen up. Here is a review I read online for the movie No Clue and I quote, you know, sometimes a girl just wants to watch a mindless movie after a stressful day, and this filled my need. This unbelievable plot was silly, but the acting was good and I appreciated the simplicity. There's nothing like a simple flick to relieve tension.

OK Solberg:

No need to closely pay attention. Nice to laugh at the silliness while still being invested in the outcome. End of quote. It is what it is. So let's unpack this.

OK Solberg:

If you think outside the box, because remember, everything happens for a reason. As you watch this movie, remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You got this. It's all good. You just heard me use seven cliches and I promise you will never hear me use six of them again on this program.

OK Solberg:

I'm saving, it's all good. Because my friend Robbie Fraser used to say it and I like it. It reminds me of my friend, but the other six you're not gonna hear. Let's close this fun filled episode with a bible verse, Proverbs twelve eighteen, the words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Well, I'm sure my words didn't heal anything, but I do hope they put a smile on your face.

OK Solberg:

So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
