The Truth In Love podcast will present God's timeless truth through the lens of His amazing love. We will do this not only through stories of people who have experienced His peace, love, strength, and wisdom through tough circumstances, but also by endeavoring to give the Bible’s answer to life’s great questions, like: Who is God, what's my purpose, who am I, how can I know God, what is heaven and hell, what is truth, and why is the Bible's truth better than my own version of truth? These are legitimate questions folks ask, and we as Christians should have the answers! God has a magnificent plan for every person. We are thrilled to be part of discovering and sharing what His Word reveals to bring hope, peace and great love into the hearts of all humanity. Join us every Tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. CST for The Truth in Love podcast, with your host Kimberly Faith
Welcome to the truth and love podcast with your host, Kimberly Faith. The truth and love podcast seeks to present God's timeless truth through the lens of his remarkable love.
Kimberly Faith:Welcome back to the truth and love podcast. So today is gonna be a little unique. Happy April Fool's Day, by the way. And as you can see, we are doing this by video and audio. I thought this podcast, because we're gonna have a little heart to heart chat and because it is going to be kind of a storytelling time for me, I wanted to offer this obviously in just not audio, but also video because sometimes it helps to really connect with the person through video.
Kimberly Faith:And when I tell these stories, I want that the point isn't the story. The point is to to teach us something and to remind myself and to remind anybody who struggles with the same thing, the same foolish behavior that I do, that there's a real person here telling this story, a real person who has made some really foolish, foolish decisions. And but God in all of His mercy and love and wisdom and power has given us the ability to live wisely. So, on this April Fools' Day, I wanted to offer some stories about how the Lord has taught me, or is teaching me, should say, because obviously it's a very progressive thing to come out of foolish living and go into wiser living. That is not something that I don't think anyone who has any wisdom at all would say, I've arrived.
Kimberly Faith:I guess certainly true for me. But I wanted to talk about kind of two different stages of foolishness that I've lived in. One was before I was saved, and the other one was after I was born again. And if you don't know what it means to be born again, I'll just say this by way of a preface. If you do not know what it means to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I would encourage you to go to the part of our website, gofaithstrong.com and read about how to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Kimberly Faith:It is the most important decision you will ever make. But I do want to talk about the foolishness of my own life, even before I was born again, and then also the foolishness of my life after. And I want to talk about most importantly, how, what the key is to prevent yourself from living like a fool. So, we'll talk about that at the end. So first of all, I want to talk about before I was saved.
Kimberly Faith:First of all, the Bible says that the fool has, this is in Psalms fourteen:one and two, The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand who seek after God or seek God.
Kimberly Faith:So, before I was born again, let me just tell you that I was not overtly seeking after God. If anything, I was seeking to avoid Him. And what's interesting to me is that a lot of my friends who are self proclaimed atheists really are no different than people like myself who reject the Lordship of God in their life. I did that for so many years. I knew the truth.
Kimberly Faith:I knew the gospel. I knew that to be saved, would have to surrender my life to Christ. But I did not want to. So while maybe I would go to church and sing hymns and had this persona that I was a Christian because I went to church, the fact is I was no different than my friends who are atheists, except maybe I was worse because I was just being a hypocrite, at least they were honest about it, and saying there is no God. Because with my actions outwardly, I was pretending to worship God and pretending to make Him Lord of my life.
Kimberly Faith:But on the inside, I was essentially denying His existence for who He says He is. You know, Lord is not if you read the Bible, the Lord makes it very clear in the Bible who He is. He's sovereign. He's supreme. He is the one and only God.
Kimberly Faith:There's no other gods like Him. And as such, He has the right to demand really that His followers make Him the Lord. And that was my big struggle. And so for years, even though I was in church and I made several professions of faith, meaning I would say, and these were my prayers, it was like, Lord, save me and I'll be good. And the problem is that I was hanging on to the part of my life I did not want to give up.
Kimberly Faith:So as a young, as a teenager, for example, there were things I wanted to do, things I wanted to experience in life that I thought were worth hanging on to, and I did not wanna give up because I knew that if I was going to surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord and savior and and accept his gift of salvation, then I would have to give up certain things. And essentially, to seal a phrase from Jeannie Champagne, the podcast she did, I was holding on to the things that were strangling me. Okay? And as a result, I wasted so many years not following the wise path that God had for me. And so, for example, I entered into relationships that were based on what I thought I could get from the other person.
Kimberly Faith:I had I pursued a career because I wanted to be somebody. I wanted to make myself someone that was didn't so I did not have to depend on anyone else for money, for the things that I wanted to travel. I wanted to have my own successful career so that I could be somebody. And I thought that I would find complete satisfaction in that. But the fact is, I came to the end of that pretty quickly.
Kimberly Faith:And I was pretty young. Was like I said, was 23 when I was born again. And I'd come to the place in my life where I recognized that the things that I had accomplished, I mean, had an undergraduate degree, was, you know, I was clicking along towards my goals, but I recognized the great emptiness. It was killing me inside. And again, that was a perpetual rejection of the Lordship of Christ in my life.
Kimberly Faith:And what's crazy is I could never get enough of anything. And you know, it's kind of like, I like to say it like this, when if you're really thirsty, right, or in the desert, and you have a choice between fresh water and salt water, why would you drink the salt water that's just going to make you sick and make you more thirsty when the fresh water was sitting right there all the time? That's what I was doing. By shoving more things into the place of God in my life and clinging on to, as Jeannie says, the things that strangled me, I was starving my soul for what it really needed was that fresh living water of Jesus. And so I'll never forget, when I finally came to the end of myself, of my foolish behavior, right, because I was basically living like Psalms who I was saying, I mean, there is no God is the same as saying that the God that probably I believe exists isn't entitled to be Lord of my life.
Kimberly Faith:It's the same thing. And matter of fact, it kind of reminds me of when we think about Romans chapter one, which I talk about a lot in the Bible concept study we do, but the Bible makes it very clear that God, His presence is manifested in every person. And it says, the Bible says, what this is Romans one nineteen-twenty two, What may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. So what may be known of God? I knew that God was going to if I was going to follow him and accept his gift of salvation, that I was going to have to make Him Lord.
Kimberly Faith:I was going to have to come to that point where I surrendered all, and I wasn't willing to do that. But I knew that, in part because I've been told that at church, but the Bible says we all know that whether we've been told in church or not, because it goes on to say, For since the creation of the world, God's invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, in other words, creation. Even His eternal power and His Godhead, in other words, right to be God, so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. And what happened? They became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Kimberly Faith:Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. So again, we're talking about I'm telling you the story of my own foolishness and my own foolish behavior, my own foolish decisions. Before I even met God, I was living the life of darkness. I was eating sawdust instead of steak. I was drinking saltwater instead of fresh water.
Kimberly Faith:I was breathing carbon monoxide instead of fresh oxygen. You know, and that's our soul and spirit are are designed for relationship with God. And when we foolishly cram the things of this world into our soul in an effort to to satisfy that burning desire that we have for God, a relationship with God, then we are being foolish. I don't think anybody who is listening to this right now would say, oh, you're so wise to drink salt water instead of fresh water. They'd say, No, you dummy.
Kimberly Faith:Drink that glass of water, right? Or, Boy, you made a great decision to chow down on that sawdust. Let's saute it with a little egg and eat it instead of eating, you know, an egg over easy with a medium rare steak, right? That we, no one in the right mind is going to say the sawdust is better than the steak. But that's exactly what I was doing before I surrendered to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Kimberly Faith:And so my foolishness in choosing the things of this world over Jesus Christ made a fool out of me, a complete fool. It's it was just like I was just I was destroying myself or strangling myself with the things that would never satisfy me. So that was before I was saved. Well, then I was born again. Then I one day, or one evening, was sitting in church, and I was so at the end of myself and my own pursuits.
Kimberly Faith:I was so done trying to find satisfaction in the world. And it was like the Lord was like, what are you doing with your life? Why are you waiting to have the satisfaction I created you for? And I was like, wow, I'm so ready. I'm so ready to surrender.
Kimberly Faith:And you know what? I was just done. I was done with the saltwater. I was done with the sawdust. And it was like the Lord drew me to a place where I was ready to step off the edge and trust Him.
Kimberly Faith:And I did. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I don't even I didn't even it wasn't even the prayer that I prayed after. It was the surrender. I said, Lord, you know what?
Kimberly Faith:You're the answer. You're the answer. You are the living water, and I drank. And I surrendered to that living water. I surrendered to him.
Kimberly Faith:And you know what? Just like that, I was born again. And I knew, I knew without a shadow of a doubt, and I still know today that if I were to drop dead right now on this on this podcast, that I would be the next moment, my next breath would be in glory, whatever that looks like with Jesus. Because he promised us that and his promise, his word is good. He is faithful, and I can trust him.
Kimberly Faith:But I wish I could say that. I do that all the time. So part two of this is my foolishness after I was born again. And I say that because there was a very large gap of my Christian life, where I walked away from my relationship with Christ, And I lived like a fool. You know, you'd think once you had enough sawdust to eat, once you drank enough salt water, that you really wouldn't want to go back to that.
Kimberly Faith:But you know, there are many Christians like myself who have lived like a quote Christian atheist for a good part of their Christian life. What mean by that is, you're a born again believer, and you've walked away from the presence of God, and chosen instead to stuff yourself with the things of this world. I'll tell you, there's no more dissatisfying life because as you will have learned, if you've watched our videos on human design, we have a body, soul, and spirit. When our soul and spirit are born again, then Jesus Christ lives in us. Well, can tell you because he's righteous and and and because he is who he is.
Kimberly Faith:When he lives in us, we have this natural inside. We have a natural desire for righteous things, for for the things, the fruit of his spirit because it lives inside of us. And so we're pulling things of this world, the the works of the flesh basically described in Galatians five twenty two. When we're living in the works of the flesh, there's this big conflict now because our the righteousness of Christ dwells in us, and yet we're filling our mind and polluting our mind with all the saltwater and sawdust. Right?
Kimberly Faith:And so this life, I'm not sure that living miserably in the world while you're a born again believer isn't more miserable. Is it worse than before you're born again? I don't know. I don't wanna compare them. They're both terrible.
Kimberly Faith:Okay? But I'll tell you that if that is you, where you have chosen to pursue your greatest passion is in the things of the world, whether that be your career, maybe your children or your grandchildren or your family or a person of interest that you have, or maybe it's it's pursuit of wealth, whatever it is, whatever it is, man, your soul can only take so much sawdust. And and as you and I I'm gonna tell you, years I lived this way as a Christian, where I was selfish, I was consumed with satisfying my own desires, fleshly desires, not my spiritual desires. And I lived with a degree of misery that caused me to do some things that I am so ashamed of. You know, I won't go into all of it, but I'll just tell you that there are things that are best left unspoken that I did, that I cannot believe.
Kimberly Faith:I look at it now and I think about Romans chapter one, which we just read, when we are foolish heart is darkened, and we think we're being wise, but we're living like a fool, we're typically the only people, we're the only person we're fooling. And I can say for a fact, that was me. I was the only one I was fooling because again, I went back to those things that strangled me instead of pursuing the pure and wonderful things of God. You know, we, you know, we are we are created for a relationship with God. And that's not a one off.
Kimberly Faith:It's not like it'd be kind of like, if I decided to marry somebody, right, if I decided to get married, and, you know, so we had this great wedding, right? We say I do, and we're happily married. And then, you know, my spouse says, Hey, I'd like to go back and, you know, sleep around and maybe, you know, try some other women out. That would not be okay. That would not be okay at all.
Kimberly Faith:And that would cause a great rift in our marriage, right? Well, when Jesus Christ becomes our savior, our Lord and savior, it's also not okay with Him if we go and then idolize things like our job, our children, our husband or wife, a girlfriend, a boyfriend, our parents, even the ministry, okay, can become an idol when it's not done God's way. And it's really interesting. I if you haven't seen the Sight and Sound Theater production of David, excellent. So well done.
Kimberly Faith:And one of the things that they portrayed with David was and I'd never really thought about this. What they portrayed his work of ministry was conquering all the the lands around Israel. Right? He had all this this war to make and how he was trying to be king in in in I'm sure with the responsibilities as king, he was it was, you know, he's giving passing judgment for people, helping his people out doing all this work. And in that weakened state of doing ministry was when he fell prey to the temptation of Bathsheba.
Kimberly Faith:And I'm not saying Bathsheba was tempting, I'm just saying he was in a weakened state because he had been doing, doing, doing so much that his relationship with God was obviously suffering. You know, sin isn't, we don't just commit some great sin like adultery or murder in a vacuum. Typically, is this kind of progression where first we just stop having our quiet time. First, we are so busy, we don't have time to pray. We are so busy.
Kimberly Faith:We don't have time for church. We are so busy. We don't have time to cultivate a relationship, a personal relationship with God. And then, bam, temptation comes because, of course, our enemy knows. He knows when we're vulnerable.
Kimberly Faith:He's not stupid. He's actually pretty wise. And plus we have three enemies. Okay, remember we have the devil, we have the flesh, and our flesh, we sleep with our flesh, so our flesh wants what it wants until the day we die, right? It'll always want what it wants.
Kimberly Faith:And then we have the world culture. The world culture says, oh, it's okay to be in this compromising position because you're strong enough, right? And the fact is, it's not okay. It's never okay to dabble in sin, because sin is sin and it's what crucified Jesus. And it's kind of like a marriage, you know, you, a couple that is spending time together, a couple that is in sync spiritually, emotionally, taking care of each other, really cultivating the relationship.
Kimberly Faith:It's not most, I would say, most of the time, even if a person presents themselves as available to create some kind of diversion in the marriage or infidelity. If you're really in love with your spouse, you're not even going be tempted by that because why would you do that? Why would you even be tempted when you have what you have is already so good? That's the same way it is with God. When we are living in the wisdom of relationship with Him and in the love of the relationship with Him, we are not nearly as tempted by idolatry is what the Bible calls it.
Kimberly Faith:In other words, having another God, whether that God be our success or ourselves or our children or whatever, or even the ministry, even having a ministry quote work. Right? We're not nearly as tempted by that when we are so in love with the presence of God that we don't wanna do anything to disrupt that. So but I did this. I as a Christian, as a born again Christian, I substituted my relationship with God for even ministry, even, you know, singing in the choir, running my kids around a Christian school, piano lessons, all those things, my own sports, my own, you know, my own desire to be somebody, right, even in the Christian circles.
Kimberly Faith:And I neglected the most important part of my life, my intimate relationship with God. And so, again, I'm using this April Fool's Day as an opportunity to encourage you. If you if you do not have that intimate relationship with God, if you do not desire to spend time with God, to feel God's presence, then, man, you're missing out. You're missing out. It's like you're eating the sawdust.
Kimberly Faith:You're drinking the salt water, and oh, you're missing out. And I don't say that in a judgy way, I promise, because I don't always wake up. I had a lady ask me one time, Kim, do you just wake up praising God and all excited? No, I don't always wake up like that. Now some mornings I do.
Kimberly Faith:But there are many mornings when I wake up feeling the slog of life, like, Lord, you're going to have to get my butt out of bed. It's 05:15, my alarm's going off. If I'm going to have quality time with you, I'm going to have to get you're going get my butt out of bed. And you know what? He does.
Kimberly Faith:He really does. He will give me that energy that I'm lacking. He will give me the motivation I'm lacking because He wants He wants to spend time with me too. And He knows that I am weak. He knows that He understands our weakness.
Kimberly Faith:And, you know, if we do it, if we discipline ourselves to follow-up in our relationship with God, and open up the communication in a way that is full and rich, There's nothing like it. It becomes our greatest addiction. I heard somebody say in church this morning that running was his is the healthiest addiction. And I'm not disagreeing with that, but I can tell you that God is our healthiest soul addiction. I'm not a runner, so I wouldn't say that's my healthiest addiction, but I understand what he was talking about.
Kimberly Faith:But I will tell you this, that our soul health, when our soul and spirit are eating and drinking of the the the fresh bread and the fresh water of Jesus Christ and his word, community with other believers, bible study, when and when we're giving testimonies of our relationship with people, there's no better stream that you can be in because and the reason is because even your circumstances don't change your pleasure. You know, the the Bible says that when we seek to know God for who He is, then we begin to understand what it means to fear him. So Proverbs nine ten says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy one's understanding. When you understand God, the more you understand God for who he is, then the more you hold him in awe, reverence, wonder, and he becomes your passion. The the and the problem is, and I'll tell you this is why we get into this foolish behavior, is because the enemies, our enemies, including our own flesh, tell us that God is something that's not to be desired.
Kimberly Faith:Our enemy says he just wants to be your a tyrant in your life and keep you from doing all the fun things in life. Our flesh says, oh, we don't really need to pray to Him. Why do we need to pray to Him? I'm too tired. I need some rest.
Kimberly Faith:I really need rest is good. You know? The world culture says it's not cool to to be too passionate about God. People will think you're a freak. Right?
Kimberly Faith:And of course, you know, crack up when people call me the Jesus lawyer. I'm good with it. You know, ten years ago, I would have been ashamed of that. But man, that's because I didn't know God for who He really is. And knowing God for who He really is has been so transformational.
Kimberly Faith:It's like, I look at people and they say, well, do you have to talk about Jesus all the time? I said, don't know. I mean, He's my best friend. Guess I do. I guess, you know, people, we talk about what's important to us, right?
Kimberly Faith:And, you know, you meet somebody who's just recently fallen in love, they won't shut up about their love, the one they love, right? Somebody who has a new baby. Like I became a granny three years ago, right? Or two and a half years ago. And I mean, I know, I know I don't shut up about her, right?
Kimberly Faith:We talk about we can't help but talk about what we love. And when what we love is God, then we have something so much better to offer people than just ourselves. Right? Me talking about my grandbaby is wonderful, but it really can't help anybody else. It might give them a temporary smile, make them laugh, make them feel good for an instant, even if they met her, right?
Kimberly Faith:Oh, she's sweet. You know, they just, oh, she's so cute. But when we give them Jesus, then we are living in the wisdom of the ages. We are living in the love that rocks the whole world. We're living in the peace that passes understanding.
Kimberly Faith:We're living in the strength that moves hearts, the strength that created the world. And you know what? We don't have to give them ourselves. We have something much better to give them. And, you know, and to give ourselves.
Kimberly Faith:It's not like the thing about thing about making Jesus the Lord of our life is that it it gives us full tanks all the time. All the time. I don't run out of Jesus unless I'm choking myself with the cares of the world and living like a fool. Right? So I think that I think that the the idea about this that I wanted to share with you, the primary idea, and I think you probably are getting catching on to it right now, but to keep from living like a fool, the best the best decision we make every day, every hour of the day is to live with God 100% Lord of our life.
Kimberly Faith:It's the wisest decision we ever make. You know, I I was I got worried this morning about making travel arrangements for a wedding, and I started getting all worked up about finding the right place to stay. And as soon as I felt my peace departing, I was like, okay. Wait a minute. What just happened?
Kimberly Faith:What and and God's like, yeah. What just happened? You know? And it's it is a decision, minute minute by minute decision. It wasn't the right time for me to make travel arrangements.
Kimberly Faith:Okay, what am I worried about? You think God can't handle my travel arrangements? You know? Of course He can. He is going to put that in my mind at the right time, the right deal.
Kimberly Faith:It will come along. Because I've given Him, every day I pray and ask the Lord, I want you to have 100% of my They're not mine. They're yours. I want you to have 100% of my law practice. It is yours, not mine.
Kimberly Faith:You do it better than I do anyway. I want you to have 100% of my love. The things that I love, I want them to be secondary to you always. And we do that when we are giving, even our children, even our ministry, it's not ours. I mean, people say, how can you do all these different ministries?
Kimberly Faith:And my response is always, very honestly, I don't. If I were doing the podcast on my own, the devotionals on my own, music on my own, all that, I it would never happen. It would never happen because it's impossible without God. This is God's work and needs to be done His way, in His timing, and every bit of it belongs to Him, then I don't have to worry about it. All the problems, they're His problems.
Kimberly Faith:All the needs, they're His needs. And I get to just be part of it. I get to hang on for the ride. So when, you know, when we are giving God lordship, we are making the most wise decision of our life. In fact, it's impossible to live like a fool lost in darkness.
Kimberly Faith:Now we might be considered a fool for Christ, but in the end, the joke's not on us. The joke is not on us. It is our life is going to mean something because the Bible says that God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the mighty and He uses the weak things in the world to overcome the strong things. And I am paraphrasing of course, but it's so true. It's so true.
Kimberly Faith:In the end, we win. And what happens now, if we let God run our life, is that God's wisdom, God's love, God's power, God's peace, it flows through us and it is unmistakable. It is eternal. You know, even when our enemies think that we're foolish, we don't have to worry about our enemies because, you know, in fact, we can pray for our enemies because we know that their end is so horrible. We can love our enemies because we know that they're missing the best part of their life.
Kimberly Faith:That's that is that's huge. That's so contraindicated with the word the way the world thinks. Right? But when God is in control and we know that because of who He is, that His ways are far above our ways, then we're gonna sit back and say, okay, God, you know what? I'm trusting you.
Kimberly Faith:You're going to give me the wisdom I need for this situation. And we can have compassion on those who don't acknowledge his ways because we can understand that they are blind because we've been there. We've been blind. And, you know, when when we are kind to those who are living in darkness, you know, even people who are foolish and living in darkness understand love. I can 1000% say that it is the love of God that brought me back into relationship with Him.
Kimberly Faith:And if you read my story on the website, you know what I'm talking about. It was not his it was not somebody knocking me over the head with the truth. It was the truth carried on the wings of God's love that brought me back into fellowship with him. And it and it was a truth combined with the fact that I knew God was love that brought me into salvation, into the loving relationship that I have today. I just wanna kinda wrap this up by saying if there's a really easy way to tell if you are living in the in a % subjection to God's will in your life and whether you have made God what Lord of your life.
Kimberly Faith:And I use this test on myself. Excellent, excellent test to know whether you're living like a fool or living in the wisdom of God. And I'll just say it's in Galatians chapter five, and I use this all the time. We use this in in our beatitudes study, and it's comparing your life. Is your life overflowing with love, joy, peace?
Kimberly Faith:Are you long suffering? Are you kind? Are you good? Are you faithful? Are you gentle?
Kimberly Faith:Do you have self control? Or are you full of anxiety? Do you envy? Are you are you constantly tempted into sexual impurity? Are you do you have other idols in your life like your work?
Kimberly Faith:Are you full of hatred? Do you cause contention? Are you constantly comparing yourself to other people and having jealousy? Are you tend do you tend to have outbursts of anger? Are your ambitions selfish?
Kimberly Faith:You know, this is the comparison between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the spirit. And again, when I start anxiety is something everybody deals with, And some of it is healthy, but for the most part it is not. For the most part, kind of anxiety that we have, like worrying about how we're going to solve a problem, worrying about how we're going to make our travel plans, right, even silly stuff, worrying about how we're going to pay the bills. You know, there's some natural anxiety that occurs, but we don't have to live in it. Okay?
Kimberly Faith:We don't have to stay there. And when we elect God take 100 control of our life, then he puts it he gives us his perspective. You know, that's that is another you know, when I pray a lot of times, I'm just like, Lord, help me to acknowledge your presence in every moment of my life and apply your wisdom in every area of your life. I ask him to give me the fruit of his spirit as a platform for speaking and living in his truth because He Lord, you're wise, you're patient. And and, you know, when I start thanking God for all that He does for me all the time, and also asking Him to grow the attitudes of Jesus that we talk about in the Beatitudes Study, Make me a peacemaker, make me merciful, make me meek, help me to love your word and hate sin, help me to mourn the sin and and hate it so much that I don't want to snuggle up to it.
Kimberly Faith:Then God's presence just takes over. His presence is it fills us with his the fruit of his spirit, and we experience the pleasure of His presence and it is the pleasure of His presence that we view the entire future of our life through. Whether that's what's going on right now, we say, oh wow, this problem is, it may seem like a huge problem. Like I had some big problems this week. I had to solve some big problems.
Kimberly Faith:Started viewing that through the lens of my own abilities, guess what? Anxiety went up. But when I started viewing that through the lens of God's omniscient, omnipotent, and His love and His wisdom, suddenly the problem got really small because I thought He he makes the world go round. He holds all the planets in balance. He's running this body.
Kimberly Faith:He's giving me air. He's making my lungs work. He's making my heart beat. Pretty sure he can make my travel plans. And so we get his perspective, and suddenly everything that all the all the things that we're worried about are put in in in view under the lens of God's eyes.
Kimberly Faith:Right? And there's only one thing we have to worry about, just one thing, And that is we gotta stay close to Him. I don't have to worry about tomorrow. I just need to know the God who's already there. That's a pretty simple thing.
Kimberly Faith:And, you know, when we make ourselves disciplined into, you know, because sometimes the presence of God isn't just our I mean, it doesn't always just become our desire right away. We have to experience it, but that discipline of of every day spending time with God, studying God's word, subjugating our will to His will. As we do that, it's like, I go back to the marriage example, we fall more and more in love with Him the closer we get to Him, because really He's the only perfect mate that we'll ever have, the only perfect lover we'll ever have, the only perfect friend we'll ever have, the wisest counselor. He is the Prince of Peace, right? He is going to give us everything that we need.
Kimberly Faith:And so when we understand that Jesus paid the ultimate price to give us this extraordinary relationship, we suddenly understand what it's like to surrender ourselves to God under the view of God's view, because the worldview would be this is a terrible idea. God's view is, hey, you know what, The Bible says that God is worthy to receive all honor and glory, because He created everything, including us, and He has a better plan. His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. And we get to enter into the pleasure of the relationship with Him.
Kimberly Faith:And we don't live like fools. We may seem like fools to people who don't understand God, but you know, we can have compassion even on people who are evil and ugly to us because we know they do not have what we have. And we can maybe have an open door through loving them with God's love to share with them what we have, what we have been given through the grace and mercy of God. So I hope that this has been helpful to you. I can tell you that this woman who has lived in such a foolish just a foolish foolish decades of of my life.
Kimberly Faith:I lived in so many foolish ways. When when I did not put God at the center, I would never wanna go back. I would rather die than go back to the life of living without God's presence and in a in a strong sense of God's presence. So if you are struggling and feel like your life is surrounded and crushed by darkness, if you feel like you've lost your way, if you feel like even if you're a born again Christian, you feel like you are just anxious, that you you have no peace, that you feel alone. You don't have to be.
Kimberly Faith:That's why we have this website, the Go Faith Strong website.
