Romans 12: 10-13
A weekday morning devotional series written by Aaron Marcarelli and hosted by Chad McBeam
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.”
Romans 12:10-13 NASB
These verses in Romans give me hope, peace and joy. We are not meant to do life alone, we are created to go through life’s struggles and difficulties together. We are created to also share our joys and triumphs with those who follow Christ.
We will fail and have little hope if we try to do this life alone, without the support and prayers of our community who love us.
Not only are our difficulties meant to draw us closer to God, they are meant to draw us closer to one another. The scripture is full of verses that encourage us to draw strength from one another. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says “A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.” In Matthew 18:20
Jesus states, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” In Matthew 18:16 Jesus tells us if you are struggling in a relationship with someone or if there is discord amongst you take people with you, “take one or two or more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.”
These are just three examples of how God calls us to this life together.
In Christ, amongst the community of the followers of Christ. We are a team, each with different skills none more important than the other. We must fervently and diligently work with each other in prayer and supplication so that we can win as many battles against the evil one as we can. Let us call upon the name of the Lord for the souls of eternity are at stake! LETS GO!
Lord thank you for loving us so much that you not only died for us but you also rose from the dead. Thank you for leaving us your Holy Spirit. Thank you also that we have each other to go through life with. Help us to rely more on you and our brothers and sisters in Christ than ourselves. Help us to fight together, and be drawn to you through our fight. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Which is why you have not left us alone. Thank you Lord for the victories won and for the victories to come! In Jesus name Amen…
Shalom Blessings and Press In and Press On!
