Crosslines

A lot of Christians have never been taught what to do about a curse. There was a curse put on the presidents of the United States back in the 1840s. From then forward every twenty years or so a president would die. President Reagan was the first to miraculously escape with his life. The praying Church was able to pull down the curse. We also must be able to pull down the occult curses spoken over our lives. God has given us the power to break any type of curse and keep it from coming to pass.

If you have ears for truth and a sincere desire to sell out to God, this podcast is for you.

Speaker 1:

Okay. I've been thinking on this one for a long time because I didn't have a real answer for it. So we're gonna start exploring the ideal tonight, but we're gonna talk about when there is an active curse aimed towards you. If someone has pronounced a curse over you, how to get it shut down? And so I'm gonna tell you about an experience that you're gonna see it in history, you can look it up, but there's an aspect to it that they're not reporting.

Speaker 1:

Now I'm sure you'll find it in some places, but it was very strong all around me. So I want you to know about this, but a lot of times there's a curse out there. A lot of Christians are never taught what to do about a curse. So the one curse that they had was a curse on the United States presidency. Ronald Reagan had just been elected.

Speaker 1:

Now, everybody was kind of in shock to elect a president as old as he was. Like, you know, that was the biggest thing they were coming against him because he was 70 years old. Now we've kind of undone that one, but a lot of prayer was put into Ronald Reagan. If you study histories, especially what they were thinking about with the presidency, at that time, they said America had become too complicated and was really thinking about having a multi leader situation. They said never again can one man run the entire presidency, and Ronald Reagan proved that wrong, that he stepped to the plate.

Speaker 1:

There's a lot of unique stories behind how he came into running, but I want you to know something. There was something that he was in line for, and it was a curse. And we're gonna talk about that in a second, exactly what it was, that there was a legend back in 1840. 1 of the presidents of the United States or the guy that was gonna be the president was fighting some Native American tribes. And at the battle of Tippecanoe, the Indian leader cursed the great white fathers.

Speaker 1:

He cursed the presidents. He cursed them that would be in office. They, a lot of times, talk about this, they'll call it Tecumseh. So they will Tecumseh. Alright.

Speaker 1:

They talked about this curse that was coming down to the presidency, and I want you to hear it because I want you to hear it from the perspective we heard it. But in 18/40, William Henry Harrison died, and it was divided by every 20 years of the person elected. In 18/60, of course it was Abraham Lincoln. 18/80, James Garfield. 1900, William McKinley assassinated.

Speaker 1:

1920, Warren g Harding, heart attack. 1940, Franklin d Roosevelt had a cerebral hemorrhage and it killed him. 1960, JFK, John f Kennedy assassinated, and so you see without a miss, it had happened every 20 years. Now, an old guy is coming into office in 1980. It was completely set up, it had never ever failed.

Speaker 1:

So what began to happen is, all through the media over here in the United States, they kept saying this is gonna happen, the curse will come about, and it was an uproar. Now they won't say it as strong now, you ought to see what they did to to just downplay this curse, but it was a fact in everybody's mind Reagan would die in office. There was no way a guy that came in on one of these years, it wouldn't happen. And so they were predicting it and, you know, there were pretty good chances because of his age. So, the curse was broken, but let me tell you what happened.

Speaker 1:

The evangelical church was not gonna let it happen. We had gotten our man in, we felt like it was a miracle, the way he won, the way he had come into office, and we took the country and for the first time, we began organizing prayer. I was very young, but it was shocking to watch everyone start praying about this president and if this curse would be broken off of him. So, anyway, we went into massive things all over the country, praying constantly that this guy would live through it. So what ended up happening is that Reagan was shot, and when he was shot, the news media was blitzing, the curse has come about.

Speaker 1:

Now, I'm gonna tell you a little bit about him being shot and, anyway, there was this guy named John Hinkley, and he'd had fallen in love with a movie star, Jodie Foster. He know how men are, they want attention from the one they love, and somehow the guy decided the way to get attention was to shoot the president. Now don't that make logical sense? Yes, that's how it developed. So he brought a revolver, he shot Reagan, the bullet ricocheted off the side of the presidential limousine, and it hit him in the underarm, breaking a rail, puncturing a lung, and causing serious internal bleeding.

Speaker 1:

The guy said I could see the bullet hole in the window and he said as we left the scene there were 3 bodies on the sidewalk. He said it was at that point I knew it had been gunfire. In the limo, the President began spitting up blood, profuse amounts of red, bright red, frothy blood. He came close to death upon his arrival at the hospital, but was stabilized in the emergency room. He then underwent emergency exploratory surgery.

Speaker 1:

It just so happened that he was closest to the only hospital that had a trauma unit, and they said the decision to take him into the ER is what saved his life. Few other hospitals in those days had it. He had lost 40 to 50% of his blood and he had minimal blood pressure, and he was 70 years of age. Well, at that time everybody who had been praying over the president began crying out all the more. We were crying for our president.

Speaker 1:

I mean, they had children. They had every church member you could imagine was crying out that this curse would be stopped over his life. Well, this is what happens is when you see an active curse. Do you have the power? Do you believe the authority of the bible that the name of Jesus has the power to break any curse that comes against you.

Speaker 1:

The strength. And this is the first time that we as a group of Americans stood up together, unified breaking a curse. It needs a little bit more coverage of what went down and how it happened because the news media gives it all kinds of explanations of why the curse suddenly stopped. But suddenly people began corporate praying again, they began getting together and saying we can stop such a thing. It really helps when you have a heads up, when you know something.

Speaker 1:

We'll go a little bit more into detail about that in a minute but you've got to know that the enemy, when you do something like when that original president was fighting a battle, he only looked at it the natural, and when he won the battle, it was over with for him. But you've got to know that you have an enemy that wants to curse you. And if your enemy delves into a cult powers or into pagan powers or anything like that, you've got to have your armor on to keep the curse from coming on. So, the battle was more than physical. When people go on the mission field, they've got to know they are in spiritual warfare.

Speaker 1:

This is not some weird idea, this is biblical faith in Ephesians 6 12 that tells you that your fight is against invisible principalities and powers and wickedness in high places. So people can mobilize evil against you by using the words of their mouth. And this is exactly what took place when they cursed the white fathers that would go down through the presidency. So, it set it up it set it up in the physical realm what was actually going on in the spiritual realm. Well, another famous one is the Kennedy curse.

Speaker 1:

And when you think of the Kennedy family, you definitely are getting a peek into generational curses, and it continues to this day. You have never seen anyone rise up and show the kind of strength needed to break this curse off the family, but it has been a family full of accidents, assassinations, all types of calamities. They think it started mainly through Joseph p Kennedy senior. He was our ambassador to Britain. It's a very unique history that took place there, but they said what's odd about this curse, it also included family, friends, associates, and relatives.

Speaker 1:

It's funny, the Kennedys finally owned up to having a curse on their family, I think Ted Kennedy was the first to say it, but he accidentally, quotation marks, drove his car off of a bridge in Massachusetts, resulting in the drowning death of oops 28 year old passenger Mary Joe, who was with him that night, and oops he swam to shore, oops he didn't remember her till the next morning. He got in trouble with the law, what happened to him was that they decided that, oh, he plead guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. So that was how he got a slap on the wrist, while this lady was never let out of the car. But what it did do to Ted Kennedy, it ruined his hopes of ever running for president, that he had already set his heart and his mind that he was gonna run for president. So what surprised me is if you've ever counted the amount of assassinations, people dying, even a lady that her kids drowned with her, one of the Kennedy's in the lake.

Speaker 1:

It just goes on and on and you'll see a family labor under a certain kind of curse. There was suicides, there's everything mixed in, but what shocked me was when I was at heart pain. I got my psychology book, and in my psychology book they outlined the Kennedy curse, and that's where they put it all together, it was like page after page of phenomena like curses that come up on people. So this is something that's studied by academics, seculars, and people that understand their spiritual authority. But, if you've never ever been exposed to generational curses or talked about it, I remember that one time I was after having worked with prison kids for a long time as a volunteer in the state school, I'd go in and teach bible studies.

Speaker 1:

One day I just asked them, look I've been coming out here, you know for this particular group for 3 or 4 years. And I said, which bible study is the most impactful on your life? Like which one has meant the most to you? Every single kid said, generational curses. And when you think of that in prison, a lot of times what you're dealing with is just a repeat pattern, family line after family line.

Speaker 1:

And so I had a graph and they could fill it out and they could look and see what the generational blessings or curses were bringing down the family. And then, I was able to teach them how to break those curses off their family. You know, my dad once said to these guys, he said, you may not have come from the family you wanted to come from, but you can make the family you've always hoped for. And so in understanding this and understanding Galatians 313 that tells us that we've been set free from the generational curse. We have been set free from curses.

Speaker 1:

It was so powerful to see people who feel like there's something abnormally wrong with their life, from the president, clear down to the lowest member of society in the prison, to understand that these kind of generational curses affect them. And that's where it talks about that if you love the Lord, the blessing goes down the family line. But if iniquity curse is set up, and rebellion, and all types of different things get into a family line, it starts bringing a series of death and curses coming down. And especially, if anything comes in in the area of witchcraft, a cult, any kind of open doors in those areas. So as this with the background, I've had something that's been happening and I would say I've had way too many people tell me that they got cursed and even knowing the word, they said that the curse still came to pass.

Speaker 1:

Now right here is where I'm stopping because this is what was taking me a while to decide, how to address that? How to address the fact that people that know just enough about it, that they would tell me in a certain situation, we got cursed. Most of them were in the ministry, and a hate group would come up to them and put a curse on them, and you've got to be able to pull that curse off. You know, you can't ignore it, you know, some people try to not think about it, and some people can't quit thinking about it. It does one of the other and so you got to understand how to use your authority.

Speaker 1:

You gotta go past just praying and and just allowing something like that to come about. There's a a person that I correspond with. A bunch of witches got after her husband, and they gave them a line of events that were gonna come to pass. It was shocking what they had said. And so I've been talking to these different people that have had this, but they haven't been able to turn it.

Speaker 1:

Well, as a nation, if we can get together in corporate prayer and stop a curse that had been coming down our line since 18/40, you can stop any curse that's put on your life. You have the power to pull down a word curse, any kind of a cult curse. Anybody that comes up and curses you, they do not have the power to curse you. Amen. And it stick.

Speaker 1:

They do not have the power to make something stick to your life. I was talking to a lady and she's on the front lines of the pro life ministry, not a state level, but at the federal level. She was a lot of times in conversations with our our past president, and she was telling me what happened when she got cursed in front of a a certain event that they were holding and she said, all of her ministry partners went out. They've all collapsed, it collapsed their entire lives. But she started fighting to hold on.

Speaker 1:

I'll never forget, we were at a retreat and she began to tell us about what had happened to her and she began pouring out her heart and I remember pouring out all the different aspects and it's then that it alerted me to, we must be able to take these curses and pull them down. So I'm gonna just use this language with you from having talked to people that call into the ministry, they want this stuff off, how do you do it? Is there seems to be a sticky side to a curse? It it seems to be there's something that makes them want to stick. So what makes them sticky?

Speaker 1:

Well, first of all, I think as a culture, especially our western minds, we're not very familiar with curses. In some ways, that's good. In some ways, the foundation of our nation being built upon the bible has made people stay away from cursing. The bible clearly forbid you to curse someone else. So for the most part, people adhered to not cursing.

Speaker 1:

Well, then Disney starts working with kids and getting them into witchcraft spells and cursing, And we've we had a whole new generation of people that aren't adherent to the bible. They don't hold to the truth of the bible. But other countries, in contrast, cursing is just part of business as usual. It's actually part of, their economic system. Every single village has someone that concurs.

Speaker 1:

In fact, if you go down into Mexico, it's very common that you you pay someone to help you curse someone that you want cursed. And so there's other cultures that are very experienced with curses. There was a time at this college at Howard Payne, we had a group of Asian students. And even though they had not become believers, they would drive down here to my house and they would ask me, would you come please break the curse? And they would have it sometimes they have it something tied around their neck, sometimes it was in their car, but they would bring me out, they would get me to break the curse.

Speaker 1:

So I found that amusing to me that they did not believe in Christianity, they didn't believe in Jesus Christ, but they kinda used me like the local person who came out and pulled the curse off of them. And I liked it because it was one step closer to the Lord for them and they liked it because I didn't charge. And so we had a working relationship between us, but you've got to be ready with your authority. And this is what bothers me is that people that have gone into ministry and nobody teaches you to armor up. No one teaches you that there are curses out there.

Speaker 1:

I have seen enough on the mission field with all the different denominations that I run into and all the different people, it is important to understand basic 101 spiritual warfare because what happens is it takes out the people in the ministry. You know, 1 guy came home, a preacher, and he was coming in from Central America, and a witch doctor had cursed him. And the churches here don't know what to do when that happens, but he couldn't sleep. He was tormented, he was hearing voices, hallucinations. He had been a very normal guy, but once the witch doctor cursed him, he could not pull out from under it.

Speaker 1:

You know who needs to be able to help you? Those people that are over you in ministry, those who are praying for your pastor needs to be able to help you pull out from this Or Yeah. Any type of, you know, person that, speaks into your life should be able to have the effect of pulling a curse off of you. Don't think it's an oddity for you to get cursed. Do not take this as a shock.

Speaker 1:

Some of our guys have preached crusades and they'll call me after, preaching to 1,000, and we'll just be on our knees praying together because it'll be like something flies and attaches to them. I had a lady that I was at the National Religious Broadcasters meeting, and in Africa, she was up preaching and she didn't know anything about it and she called it just like a flying curse came and attacked her. She was totally caught off guard by this. You can be a tremendous communicator. You can have a powerful testimony.

Speaker 1:

You cannot be ashamed of Jesus Christ and still not understand your spiritual authority. And this is what takes place. The enemy has people out there and they understand curses, and you don't. And that's a problem. It's a problem that the dark side understands the power of a curse.

Speaker 1:

And as Christians, we don't realize that we have to armor up, suit up, and be prepared to have the armor of the Lord and the blood of Jesus Christ over us. So just like this guy, there are signs that you can look for for when somebody has been cursed where they something snaps in them, they completely lose who they are. I was I think it was Israel, who I just came home from it was just on one of my last trips that I was getting text from someone down in South Texas, and they wanted to bring me a young man who started just randomly hearing voices. And some of the college kids have graduated from before, and their pastor was calling saying, what do I do? I don't know what to do, but this guy suddenly just has voices speaking to him.

Speaker 1:

And so, this is what happens when people that in a culture like America, where we have not been taught on this, run up against cultures who use curses to take people out. You know, I can't tell you the surprise of 1 of my kids that was working in a clothing store here a few years back. And the manager and a few of this assistant managers, they opened up the lockers and they had voodoo dolls in there for each one of them, and they were sticking the dolls. Anytime you make them mad, they just go back and use their voodoo on you. And so, anyway, we were like, don't wanna shop there right now, you know.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, unfortunately, we've let it into our culture, something that is completely forbidden. As we lose our bible base, as we're become biblically illiterate, we don't have the foundation for people to stay out of this kind of, lifestyle. If I was gonna say signs, if I was gonna tell you what to look for, sometimes it's it'll make them sick or there'll be an accidents. People brought and just suddenly all kinds of calamity start to happen to them. Some people see it and if, they'll say that curses come a lot of times, things happen with certain numbers, but they have a set of numbers.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna say the minute you even think such a thought, you need to take that thought captive to the word of God. That's not what he says. We have power over every work of the enemy. Don't go along with someone who's trying to pronounce, well, it happens in this number. Every time you see 1, you'll see x number.

Speaker 1:

I'm not even speaking over it because you hear it all the time, but when I see 1, I start praying over it. If you lose one person on this campus, I'm praying over this campus that no more will be lost. If you have a suicide somewhere, you start praying, it will not go through the family line. You have spiritual authority. You have the ability to turn the tide of this.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes, shockingly, it doesn't even take that much from you. It's just knowing the name of Jesus and speaking it with faith. It's like this thing inside of you, curses always try to spread and they always try to repeat, and that's your job to get them to stop. Anything that comes in number patterns, pay attention to your spirit if something feels off. And there's 2 things, you stop it with the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.

Speaker 1:

You stop it in the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, and you put up your shield of faith, and you're able to stop every flaming missile being fired at you. Now, I want you to do something as we take our western mind and adapt it to what's really going on in the world with evil. I'm gonna say this doesn't take a lot of thinking it through to realize this, but there must be something to curse If if you're an analytical thinker, kind of like I used to, you know, think, kinda doubt everything, you know, or challenge it. But think about this, if you're an analytical thinker, there must be something to curses or the bible wouldn't forbid you to curse your enemies or to curse people. So we're really not bringing much to the table if we're not realizing that there is power to a curse if the Bible forbid you to do it.

Speaker 1:

If it was just this thing of, well, how can words hurt you? You know, don't beat me with a bat, don't shoot me with a gun, but how could your words hurt me? But literally, there's invisible power, you know, it says that death and life are in the power of a tongue. It talks about your words being swords and they shoot out. It is a weapon in the spiritual realm, So as we're forbidden to do it, it lets you know you do not want word curses on you.

Speaker 1:

So in the old testament, it tells you, don't curse these certain people. The first one being, don't curse God. Exodus 22/28, don't curse him. Whatever happens to you in life, make sure you never curse God. You're never supposed to curse the Lord.

Speaker 1:

Says don't curse your parents. Exodus 2117, Leviticus 29, Proverbs 2020, Proverbs 3011. It tells you, Sam, it tells you don't curse your parents. It says, don't curse authorities, Exodus 2228, Ecclesiastes 1020, don't curse the leadership. And then it says, and don't curse the helpless or the deaf.

Speaker 1:

It's unfair to curse them. Leviticus 1914. So it's funny, in the old testament, it'll just speak into certain groups, and it'll tell you don't curse these people. But then the new testament, it tights it up, turns to spigot even a little bit more, and it is especially forbidden to curse in the New Testament. Now when you hear these words from me, you must love them.

Speaker 1:

You must bless them, you must pray for them, you do good to them. You know what? I mean, you think for sure when I say love them, bless them, pray for them, do good. That for sure I'm talking to you about that, person in your life that means so much to you. Surely that's what the new testament is talking about.

Speaker 1:

But when you read in Luke 628 and Matthew 544 through 48, Horror of horrors, it tells me I've got to love my enemies. That is crazy to bless them. I'm having a hard enough time remembering to bless everyone I love. I've got to bless those, think how long I'd be blessing. I gotta pray for them, and then I've gotta do good to those who hate you.

Speaker 1:

That's the testament. And where in that do you find the right to curse them? It says, when they curse me I bless them. Well let me tell you why, because there's something to a curse you're not understanding, and if you curse them, you're stupid because it works like an Australian boomerang. You throw that curse up there and it will go flying right towards them until it turns around and comes right back to you.

Speaker 1:

What you send out comes back. And so if you're putting curses out, guess what's gonna happen to you? It does not mean the person you're cursing is cursing you back and you're trying to figure out who has the best curses. It literally means your cursing is being multiplied and sent right back to you. Because think of it this way, it says when you go into a home, how many of you have done this this week?

Speaker 1:

You walked into a home and you said, peace to this home, shalom to this home, bless this home. Okay. That would be enough if the Lord just said, come into a house and bless the house. We have no concept of that in the West that we go in and we, what do you mean put a blessing on the house? Where does that stick?

Speaker 1:

What does that do? I have that kind of power, but that's what it says, it says go into a house and bless it. But it's the next part that really makes you think It says if there's the right person in there with the right spirit on them, it says the blessing will stick. But if the person doesn't have the right spirit on them, if they're not worthy, it says, the blessing will return back to me. So I'm sending it out and if they don't receive it, it comes back to me.

Speaker 1:

Well, I sure wanna be on the blessing end because what I'm sending out and it's coming back, I like this language, I can't be harmed and I can't harm you because I don't have any harm in me. I'm wise as a serpent, but I'm harmless as a dove, so I can't harm you. I don't have harm in me to give, neither does the Lord. It says he's he's perfect, so inside of you that's where you say, I don't want to operate in the realm of harm. I don't want involved.

Speaker 1:

I don't want it on my hands. I have no desire to curse my friends. I have no desire to curse anyone in ministry, and I don't have any desire to curse my enemies. None. If I'm gonna bless my enemies, I'm gonna double bless those who love me and are loyal to me, and who's pray.

Speaker 1:

But I am called to be a blessing. It's something fierce that you do and you know because Jesus loved you, you have the power to bless. But it keeps you out of the realm of harm. You can't have something in you attracting it. It's that thing where he said there's gotta be something worthy.

Speaker 1:

The curse sticks when there's something unworthy, something that's lets it stick inside of you that gives it legal rot and that's where it is. So what do curses do? When it tells us do not put curses on people, it reinforces to us the power of the curse, number 1. Number 2, I'm gonna say this very strongly, if someone curses you, you can know that that person who curses you is not a Christian, or they're not a practicing Christian, or they're not a real genuine Christian. If someone curses you, they cannot be a Christian because Jesus tells him, do not curse.

Speaker 1:

It's that easy. We either are cross followers or we're not. We either do what Jesus says or we don't. If someone is in the business of cursing, they are getting orders from a different kingdom. So it's very clear, number 1, that curses have power.

Speaker 1:

Number 2, you have a person that is not a practicing Christian if they curse. If they have a cursing little spirit in them, they've got something wrong inside of them. Hollow me and they need deliverance. So you can't claim to be a Christian and a cursing person. James 311-12 says it this way, how can it be fresh water and ocean water together?

Speaker 1:

It's either fresh or salty. It says, how can you bless god and curse man? How can you do both? If someone curses someone else, they are directly from the enemy. So there is no plan around with this cursing thing.

Speaker 1:

There is no somebody saying they're a Christian, someone saying that they have the right to curse. It is clearly in the red letter part of the bible that Jesus himself says, do not curse. And then it moves into a very unusual aspect of the curse and it calls it something called a flying curse. Zechariah 5 4 through 5. We used to talk about this a lot in the prison ministry.

Speaker 1:

You know, sometimes you thought your best nights were there when you were talking and you're you're speaking to those guys. Nobody ever comes and speaks to them something where where they can stand with it, where there's truth to it. Like, when you talk to them about generational curses and they repent and yet you speak on it in American groups and everybody's drydod and nobody ever has moved to do any action. But yet, you see people and they're just like, if I only knew this. I think that's when Jesus said, look.

Speaker 1:

You're gonna be in so much trouble because Nineveh would have repented if I had told him what I just told you. And we can't have it like that where people that have never heard hear it for the first time and they so take it in and then we do nothing about it. We don't move on what the lord's telling us. But I remember those knots in the prison and we would have it in we would talk about it, there was a flying curse in the house of a thief. And I asked the guys, I said, I wanna ask you something, have any of you ever stole?

Speaker 1:

It was kind of unusual, you get almost a 100%. That that that all admit, yeah, I've stolen. I dare not ask it in this room. Have any of you ever stole? Because it said that if you steal, a curse comes into your house and it's a flying curse that lives in the house of the thief.

Speaker 1:

And I said, it's the darnest thing that'll happen to you. I said, if you steal, someone will come steal what you stole from you or come steal from your house. You're you're setting up some kind of curse and every guy goes, you're right. It's exactly what happens. So here you get in trouble because you're stealing and then everything gets swapped away from you and so it sets up a flying curse in every area that we purposely disobey the Lord.

Speaker 1:

I told some, have any of you stolen from churches? Have any of you stolen from little white churches? And some of them go, miss, I've stolen from little white churches. I stole the I go, you've got to repent. You've got a curse going.

Speaker 1:

I can't even bless your house enough. You've got to get that curse off of you. So the house of a thief is not blessed. It means stuff will just go wrong for you. It'll break.

Speaker 1:

I remember my dad. He he got saved later in life and he was going around town paying people back for things he had stolen as a boy. Like and then he'd pay him the value it was right then. And people in town were like, they were just in shock. It it was like he wanted that off of him.

Speaker 1:

It's stolen like a headphone and something else, and I was like, you're serious as a grown man, a businessman, you walked in and yes. Some of you need to get serious, and you need to say, I don't want a curse in my life. The lord is my provider, he's my source, he blesses me, I don't let my little sticky fingers do it. Because the flying curse strikes, so how do you get rid of the curse? Stop, repent, pray, renounce, break that agreement.

Speaker 1:

Break the agreement with the fact that you're so poverty minded, you're gonna steal for yourself and not ask your father. You've got to step it up. You've got a dad. You don't have to steal. You can ask, and you can come ask a believer.

Speaker 1:

Don't get something started in your house because let me say something about the flying curse, what happens? Next, when it flies, it lands. And proverbs 262 is interesting, it says like a sparrow that flies and will allot so a curse can't come without a cause. So it's talking about a bird will fly till it finds somewhere to perch. It'll fly till it has a landing spot.

Speaker 1:

You don't want that bird landing on your head. You don't want that bird flying into you and that's exactly what it says, that if you don't give it cause, a curse can't do it. But guess what? The bird's looking for a place to land. It's looking for a place to light, don't give it a cause to do it.

Speaker 1:

So that's what breaks the power off, is flat, not given the curse, any cause to land on you. So, it tells us something about curses, they're living, they're living, and they're flying, and they're trying to land like you have a landing strip in your backyard. They're trying to come on you and your life, your land, your person. So can you prevent it? Now, I'm gonna show you something.

Speaker 1:

This concept of curses is actually spoken of in the book of Revelation. It's actually spoken twice and it's 2 people related to curses. And we may go into this longer next time, but I just wanted at least wet your appetite because I The other day, I saw something I've never seen about this. So in revelations 214 is one of them and revelations 220 is the other person it relates to. So first, we're gonna look at the one in Revelation 214 and it's Balaam.

Speaker 1:

And if the bible ever hated anyone, it hates Balaam. But what's so unusual about Balaam is, I'm gonna tell you something that sounds airtight, something that sounds like it absolutely protects you, and this is where most of the church lives. Remember when Balaam tried to curse God's people in Numbers 226? You know, they said, now come put a curse on these people because they're too powerful bow them. I can destroy them.

Speaker 1:

If you curse them, I can beat them in battle. So they do something in the spiritual to be able to whip you in this in the physical. I personally believe that's why our men come home the way they come home from war now, because they're in countries that curse. And they curse the American soldier, And we don't understand it, nor do we take it in consideration. I called the commander's friend of the base in El Paso, because I had a soldier come to me and he was crying and he said, I can't stand those calls to worship in those foreign tongues because there are curses involved in this stuff.

Speaker 1:

And the commander was a believing Christian, and I told them this is a simple problem to solve. This is America, why are we not doing this? Why not let them do a call to worship in that language, but they actually be saying, at the name of Jesus Christ every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Why not put that in Arabic? Why not have the call to prayer be Arabic?

Speaker 1:

So the soldiers are hearing what they're giving them simulated battle experience, but it actually be speaking words of life. I said, don't you have the power to command? Because people don't understand that what your enemy does is he curses you and then he has the power to defeat you. So this is what makes Christians happy, this right here. It's beautiful.

Speaker 1:

We all know this scripture. He said, but I know something that who God has blessed, whoever God has blessed, no one can curse that person. And we all put a period our bible and say, hallelujah, that's my scripture I stand on. If God has blessed me, no one can curse me. Amen.

Speaker 1:

And that is your powerful verse. If I obtain the blessing of God, if I sustain the blessing of God, if I live under the blessing, if it commands the blessing, if the blessing is like that so it goes down a 1000 generations while the curse is only 3 or 4. I command the blessing on me. And so Balaam, as hard as he would try, would try to curse God's people. But he couldn't curse them because they had the blessing that causes them to be intact.

Speaker 1:

But I told you I was gonna answer what happens? Why do these God fearing bible believing authority preaching people come down with the curse? Okay. Bad cough. Why?

Speaker 1:

Because the enemy doesn't give up, and this is why revelation hates him. It's why Peter talks about Balaam. It's because the enemy doesn't give up, and though it is true that whom God has blessed, no man can curse. The second round of attack, nobody can attack. The enemy will find a way to make you curse yourself.

Speaker 1:

He will find a way to have you curse yourself. And in numbers 25 1 through 3, you can read this, but you don't have any answers on it. It just so happens. So let's just say it this way. This is how the story goes in numbers.

Speaker 1:

While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with the Mennonite women who invited them to the sacrifices to their gods. So they had their pagan temples and they had pagan practices going on, and the people ate the sacrificial meal, they bowed down before the gods. So Israel yoked themselves to Baal a PR, and the anger of the Lord burned against them. And you don't think anything, Balaam was 2 chapters before, so you just you don't see anything in there, but they messed up. The the children of Israel went over to the pagan, temples, they didn't stay with their god, and they literally bow down to false gods.

Speaker 1:

Now, we would never have anyone at heart pain ever on a computer bow down to Fox gods. Never would we have that. And then pay money to the shrine. Never will we do something pagan like this. So, at this point, you don't see the connection.

Speaker 1:

But let me say, after someone curses you and it doesn't a lot, the enemy tries something else with you. You gotta be ready for round 2 because this happened directly after they were protected from the curse. And numbers 3116 tells you what happened. It said, the women came over after the Israelite men upon the advice of Balaam. He was like, I can't curse them.

Speaker 1:

I'll go get all their prostitutes to come over. I can make the Israeli men fall. I have a way. And a plague was sent and it wipes them out. Balaam gets his money.

Speaker 1:

He told the king, I can't curse him but I have a way to seduce him and you'll pay me because 1,000 will die. And that's what the guy said, he said, I'll give you money if you can if you can get rid of these guys for me because he said, they're eating up all the land. I want you to think of those things we've done to ourselves that have caused the curse. This party that happened, where the women came, the men just thought it was welcoming the newcomers in the land. They didn't know Balaam had been thinking, how can I get my paycheck?

Speaker 1:

The enemy is trying to figure out what makes you tick, how do you think? The demons want their paychecks. They want their assignments to work. So 16 is the verse, 3116, that lets you know there's someone behind it. Believe me your enemy is behind you getting cursed, it's not an accident you fall after you make a big stand.

Speaker 1:

It's not an accident you fall after you realize in your heart, I can't be cursed. Can you think of a story of this happening at any point in history? Curses we've done to ourselves, can you think of anything? Something we wanna tell? Let me finish my story then.

Speaker 1:

Back to Reagan. What many of us have forgotten or maybe we really never knew was what a close call that day was on March 30, 1981. And the way they turn this in is a profound twist of fate, but it's actually the hand of the Lord. It's actually the prayers of the people that there was a guy that was assigned to Ronald Reagan that normally wasn't on duty. He had never served the president.

Speaker 1:

So Jerry Parr wasn't scheduled to guard Reagan, but as head of the protective detail, Parr hadn't yet become familiar with this new president, and he simply wanted to go on an excursion with him that day and study the president's habits. He wanted to see how he moved. Low and behold, Parr is with him and 6 shots rang out. Parr is telling this, he said the first shot, the first thing you see, the first yell, the first scream, the first violence, he said you just start going into action. He said you're operating more on your training.

Speaker 1:

He said, yeah, it could be instinct too, perhaps it was instinct, intuition. He said, but there was something different about it. He said, it was the fact that I wasn't afraid of him to handle his body the way I handled him. They've been studying the films. He said, I think when you're a young agent, you're reluctant to do anything or to just grab a president and do something with him.

Speaker 1:

But he said without even meaning to, he took charge and he put his hands on this new president, this older man. He said for some reason, I wasn't afraid to put my hands on him, and so it just happened to be that day. For me, it was a day that I had hoped would never come because of Kennedy. He said it was still fresh in the minds of the secret service. He said, and there had been a string of violence.

Speaker 1:

Once that opened up, it was Martin Luther King, it was Robert f Kennedy, Martin Luther King Junior, Robert Kennedy, governor George Wallace, and then Gerald Ford had had 2 assassination attempts on him. So here we are, 2 decades of gunfire had taught the Secret Service one lesson well, move fast. If Jerry Parr was a split second slower, split second when they watch the film, Reagan would have gotten shot in the head and he's he pushed him down. Split second, said the Washington reporter, if you look at the angle that he was going at, he would have hit Reagan straight in the head. The book is titled Rawhide Damn, Rawhide being the code word for Reagan, the near assassination of Ronald Reagan.

Speaker 1:

And he said that when you got to the operating room, the blood was everywhere. He said, you walk in, and he said, the shock of the moment, you've got all the men on the ground, you've got James Brady harmed, have everything, and he said there lies your president completely stark naked. Blood and they're like, what is going to happen? Reagan has been in this state, and America had begun to pray because it was down to the finish line between us and that curse. Were we gonna lose our president?

Speaker 1:

The first amount of prayer had made a God be on duty that never was on duty. An angel had used his hand to shove him, but now, the president was in the operating room and the doctors tell how close of a call. But suddenly, Reagan opens his eyes. He looked up and he said to the doctors, he said, I hope you're all Republicans. Doctor Giordano says to him, today, we're all republican, sir.

Speaker 1:

And they said it adhered a president to the hearts of the people. His fight was back in him, and God had given us a miracle. The prayer had worked. The president had alerted. He came out of that, and I can say here for sure that if God has blessed you, no man can curse you.

Speaker 1:

But something insidious had happened. When the bullet missed the president, it hit the first lady and fear entered the heart of Nancy Reagan. And instead of rejoicing in the miracle that God had spared her husband in the miracle of prayer, Nancy Reagan turned to astrology in the White House to protect her husband. She said, I was scared every time he left the house. The New York paper it published, an astrologer runs the White House.

Speaker 1:

After 7 years, it was said that this astrologer, she issued guidance for pay that went beyond just mundane scheduling to matters of all diplomacy. All the cold war politics, the timing of the president's cancer surgery, the timing of all press conferences, most of his speeches, all the state of the union addresses, the take offs and the landings of Air Force 1, pick the time of Ronald Reagan's debate with Jimmy Carter, and the 2 debates with Walter Mondale, the astrologist said. And all extended trips abroad, and all shorter trips and all one day excursion. The devil was in charge of Ronald Reagan and the White House. Balam, he comes in one way and if he can't get you there, he finds a way in.

Speaker 1:

You've gotta be prepared for the 2nd round. You defeat the curse openly and publicly and you must defeat it privately. Let me say this, the curses actually returned upon the sender. In numbers 2517, the Midnights got cursed. The boomerang curse came back on Balaam in numbers 3 18, the bible tells, and Balaam got it back and he died.

Speaker 1:

The second person of the cursing that revelation hates is Jezebel. So number 2 is Jezebel fancies herself a prophet. And I'm gonna tell you this, when you're working with the Jezebel spirit, and I cannot tell you a ministry that has not fought against this controlling spirit. Don't think your ministry is singled out. You will face the spirit, especially if you go out evangelizing the nations.

Speaker 1:

But I saw something, I've never read about this verse in Revelations 220. It's the first part and this is what caught my eye and this is where you defeat the spirit first. The Jezebel spirit has to be defeated because she thinks herself and she calls herself a prophetess. And when I saw that, I understood that she is issuing the curses against us. She prophesies.

Speaker 1:

What do prophets do? They release a prophetic declaration over your life, be it from God or be it from the enemy. If it's a prophet of God, they will bless you. They will layer you. They will protect you.

Speaker 1:

But be it a prophet from the enemy or a soulish prophet that prophesies all their own inclination, they are a prophetess and they declare themselves a prophet, and it's because they are after you to speak it. And the issue will become whether you receive the words they tell you or not, And believe me, they're constantly speaking over you. Over and over and over, they try to speak into your life. If you've ever had a Jezebel in your life, they are speaking to you. If you've had a Jezebel parent, they are speaking to you.

Speaker 1:

It's laden with guilt. It's laden with fear. It's laden with control. It's laden with with passive aggressive. It's laden with narcissism.

Speaker 1:

It is laden. The Jezebel spirit is there to control you, your every move, your ever public release, everything you do. God may put his man in the White House and the devil will try to control him. They will speak to you about your life and they will try to speak to you about your future. They will try to line out your future.

Speaker 1:

They will try to tell you how it's gonna go because they think they predict the future. Are Jezebel's prophecy still in your ears? What are Jezebel's prophecies and what are the curses? They'll use our language. Oh, I've got a word from the Lord.

Speaker 1:

I just wanna release that word over you. It makes them go crazy because they have to get out that curse. They have to get out something that predicts your demise, your failure. They have to get it out and they will many times put the name of the Lord on it. Don't think they don't.

Speaker 1:

They're born the word prophetess. Everything God has done, the enemy tries to steal and tries to use it for his kingdom, but it was meant for the power of God. We must have true prophets rise up in our nation and in our believers to keep this kind of mess out of our churches. Amen. Out of our gathering places, out of our people's lives.

Speaker 1:

They have to do it. They want to prophesy over your life and what does the Bible say? She calls herself a prophetess to you and it says, do not tolerate her. Do not tolerate her. The first thing to get a prophecy either side is to receive it.

Speaker 1:

If it is a word from God, you must receive it. If it is something that's of the enemy, a curse, it's trying to a light on you. It's flying around. It's trying to get into your house, into your door. You know, the first thing you remember when John was talking about the Jehu thing, even in the end, Jezebel was trying to put the the twist on his life, the prophecy, and instead of saying, God has told you to come do this, God has told you to dethrone me, God has told you to fulfill a prophecy, he made the point very clear that she refers back to Zimri.

Speaker 1:

And she says, you're doing it like Zimri who's an assassinator. That's what kind of spirit you have in you. The enemy will try to get you mixed up about you. He will try to get you all confused. He will think if you're doing good for the kingdom, he'll tell you you're crazy.

Speaker 1:

He tells you you've got the wrong spirit, you're just like Zimri. Look, your actions are the same. If your assignment from God is to topple a Jezebel stronghold, if it's to bring down this spirit, I'm saying you're going to be in warfare you have never believed before, and you must love truth to be able to get out of it. You have to love truth just like it tells you in 2nd Thessalonians 210, that you gotta love truth. So the thing to deal with the Jezebel spirit is to resist the words, resist the prophecy.

Speaker 1:

Do not receive it, be active. They come in a cult hex incantations, every type of word. Some of you know what I'm talking about because you've been raised with it right in your home. Unfortunately, I had people in my house today that fought with stuff that no person should ever have to go through. But but just like the occult and just like these type of things, so are words, curses.

Speaker 1:

If you had someone in your family that they were damning someone, if they were using their word and I think that they have the power of god to damn them, Only the power of damnation. Can you imagine using your words to damn? And yet people throw it around like they think that they're god themselves and they speak it and they pronounce it over themselves, over others. It's word curses is calling people names. Jesus took it even so slight that he says, don't even call a man stupid or a fool.

Speaker 1:

And yet, people, kids have been called fools and stupid and and dressed down and and the failure, making pronounces, it is that Jezebel spirit in a different package. So, someone who has ever spoke a word curse over you, you gotta make sure it doesn't stick. Not in your head, not in your emotions. Many times it makes you doubt yourself, your calling, your assignment, what God's told you. It gets crazy, you get confusion, your head spinning, it gives it a place in your life, but what has to rise up in you is that you become convinced.

Speaker 1:

You become confident. For faith is the confidence of things not seen. It is the ability to be convinced that God's word is true and that it will hold against any onslaught of the enemy. That literally, a little man dressed in a little bit of armor can withstand wicked principalities and powers that are sent to wipe him off the earth. That's what you're in.

Speaker 1:

Are there statements that people have said about you? Teachers, people, coaches, important people that you've let go down inside of you, that play over, and over, and over in your head like a vinyl, Like something that spins around, repeat it in your ears, bring it repetitively in your life, or in your mind, that ought not to come to pass. Trying to decide whether to tell this last story, I think it will. We went into the t y c state school. I had different partners over the years.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I guess I was wearing them out, but finally my dad retired and he became my t y c partner. We had this guy in our bible study and he was a very nice looking young man and you just like him. And it was kinda hard to keep up with which ones had gotten saved and which ones didn't, you know, you're looking for those first time salvations and and deliverance and, I'd forgotten years earlier in bible study that for a while he had gone really berserk crazy of trying to curse us. And so right before we leave, he would stand up and would curse us that we would die in a car wreck that that way.

Speaker 1:

It's always a little disappointing because you kinda felt an emotional lacking for him, and then to be cursed by him was just irritating. And my dad would put his hand up, you know, I can still see his hand to this day and he had said, the blood of Jesus covers his son and that curse does not, stay on us. And so the guy would come back the next week and he would work harder and he told me he mixed his body fluids and would drink them. I hated to think through what he was doing, but again, with more power and more gusto, he would curse us again with everything in it. Again, my dad's hand would go up and he would plead the blood of Jesus, declare us as untouchable by a curse that some young man thought he could put on us, that god himself had blessed us.

Speaker 1:

It was it was you unique to see man to man this happen. 3rd week happens. Young man again, he said he ramped it up from there. And he did all kinds of conjuring up, and again, he cursed us with everything in him after having enjoyed a good bible study with me. He would just use all the powers that he could conjure that be to curses.

Speaker 1:

And again, my dad would pray it and believe me, I was saying it too. Lord, I thank you. I'm covering the blood of Jesus that the death angel destroyer cannot come in. I mean, you feel your faith. It's a funny feeling to have someone curse you.

Speaker 1:

Like, I don't know what I can say, but it's funny when they curse you to for you to die. I've had people pick up the phone and curse me that I'll die. So we pushed back. After that, he quit cursing, it wasn't working and he said in disgust. He said, oh, you're some of those crazy kind of Christians.

Speaker 1:

You're crazy. So I've never forgotten it. Oh, so that's what we are. We're the crazy kind of Christians. He said it didn't work on y'all.

Speaker 1:

And I was like, oh, so that's biblically what I'm supposed to be, one of those crazy kind of Christians. I I never had forgotten that compliment. I always liked that. He had told me, you're crazy, one of those crazy kind. But it was a few years later, I had the privilege of when this kid came to Christ, that he confessed, he cried, but he wasn't crying over cursing us.

Speaker 1:

We talked about it. He remembered it didn't work on us. But he said, during that same time, he cursed his staff. And he cursed the man to his face that he would die in a car wreck. And he said that very day, the guy was walking across the street and going to the parking lot, and a car came at a high rate of speed and hit the staff.

Speaker 1:

The staff went into a coma and never recovered. And he said, I knew I had done that curse. Step didn't know, and know to do what we had done. We weren't meeting out in the middle where they could have heard how my dad handled it, and learned. We could have stopped it, prayed up for him, maybe.

Speaker 1:

He told me, I don't know how I could ever be forgiven. He said, I never was able to share with that man. Here I am accepting Jesus. He said, that's why I keep putting it off because I never shared him with that guy. The curse, it worked on that man.

Speaker 1:

And that's what I'm gonna tell you tonight. There's 2 types of people. Those that the curse works on, and those the curse doesn't work on. It's that simple. Be it an old man's hand that's a little bit crusty and and knows his authority, Or be it someone that doesn't even know that when he steps off that curb, it'd be the last moment of his time on earth, of having any cohesive thinking before he passed.

Speaker 1:

And I would hold the guy who was his killer. It's the invisible that's more dangerous than even if that guy who had done crimes, had killed him with his own hands. The cursing has power. So, I'm inviting you tonight, that you stand against these active curses and do what it takes to win round 1, that whom God has blessed, no one can curse. And win round 2, and you ask the Lord, lead me away from anything that would set me up under a curse, where the enemy would have a right to strike.

Speaker 1:

You or your family. In Jesus name, amen.
