What is Grammar Minute?

Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we’re saving the English language sixty seconds at a time! I’m Lauren Smyth, and this is your super-speed review of the eight parts of speech.
A noun is a person, place, or thing. Every full sentence, except an exclamation, must have one.
A pronoun is a word like he, she, or it that replaces a noun.
An adjective describes a noun or pronoun, as in “blue” or “sunny.”
A verb is an action undertaken by a noun or pronoun. Every full sentence must have one.
An adverb describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb.
A preposition defines place or relationship, as in “before,” “for,” or “into.”
A conjunction joins phrases, as in “and” or “but.”
And, finally, an interjection is just an exclamation, like “oh!” or “whoa!”
