✨ Abundance. Alignment. Action.
It’s time to live more and earn more - with ease.
Running a business when you are going
through midlife, like perimenopause,
menopause, all the things.
Plus you're juggling your kids and maybe
you are sandwiched between looking after
your kids and also elderly parents.
It's a lot, and one of the reasons that
we set up businesses is because we want
more flexibility, more freedom to take
care of our family, to be those caring
roles that we get the flexibility.
So while we often set up a
business because we want that.
And more and more people in their
fifties are setting up businesses so
that we have more flexibility to do the
caring, to be there for our children,
to be there for elderly parents.
And also it might be that we are
feeling increasingly squeezed out of
the marketplace because we've reached
seniority and so, you know, employers
would rather have someone who's a bit
cheaper, but at the same time, they
don't wanna employ us for the junior
roles because for whatever reason.
And so there's this growing number
of people who are setting up
businesses in their forties, in their
fifties who are looking for more
flexibility, more of a lifestyle,
so that they still wanna earn money,
but be able to fit life around them.
All of that mix means it at
times, we are squeezed in so many
directions because we've gotta
make our business work because.
There isn't a plan B, but at the same
time we are also squeezed because we're
looking after parents, we're looking
after children and feeling all of the
things, plus making our business work.
So how can you cope with
all of that going on?
And I know for me at times,
I definitely feel exhausted.
I've had a lot going on that I
can't talk about, but a lot going
on in the last five, six years.
And that mental load is, it
becomes overwhelming at times.
When you are juggling all of that stuff,
it is different to running a business
in your twenties where you can go off
and live the laptop lifestyle, be on the
beach, and it's, it's a different vibe.
You can go and you can work crazy
hours instead of having to fit it
around your kids or all of that, you,
you just make different decisions.
You can't work in the same way.
And so I think this isn't
talked about as much.
So a lot of the people who kind
of I see where they're sort
of like, they're talking about
parenting and running businesses.
They did the, the crazy work on the
business to make it a success before
they had the kids and then they had
the kids and they get more flexibility.
But if you are in the deep and dirty of
trying to, to juggle children and also
setting up your business, it's a lot.
And I know, 'cause I've been there.
Uh, you know, and I know, you know,
I started my business while I was
breastfeeding my son, I literally started
my business because he had hand foot of
mouth disease and we had to stay home.
And in being in quarantine in that
bubble, it gave me the head space
to think, hang on a minute, why
don't I start my own business?
So he has been absolutely
integral to the process.
But when you start a business in
midlife, there is, there are different
pressures, there are different demands
on you that can be exhausting and
draining and I just wanted to, to
mention that and to say, I see you
'cause I get it and it can be a lot.
So how can you start to
sort of recalibrate that?
And for me, one of the big ways that
I do a couple of ways, the first
one is definitely like looking after
myself and I, and I'm not just talking
about self-care 'cause I actually
don't particularly like those words.
I think self-care is quite self-indulgent
and the more that we give back,
the better we feel about life.
But I am saying that fitting into your
day, meditation, fitting into your day,
good practices to take care of you.
And that means, I will do a
meditation, I will do journaling in
the morning, and I'll do things like
fitness to look after me so that
I am in the best shape possible.
I will lift weights, I'll
go for a run, do things.
Do you like the fact I'm
getting rid of my Bingo wings?
Uh, two things to make me feel better.
Okay, so those, like that is really
important and the meditation piece
really, really helps, particularly when
you are in perimenopause land and you
know, sometimes it's hard to sleep.
I'm definitely on the.
Um, because of everything that I've
got going on, my anxiety levels are
pretty high, and so I'm upping my
meditation game to take care of me.
And so, you know, it's those things
that you can really look after you to
lower your cortisol levels, to manage
your stress, to take care of you.
I think there also needs to
be a reframing of success.
And so we are sort of conditioned to think
that success is that sort of version of
success that it was us 20 years ago where
maybe we had the energy and the capacity
and the bandwidth because we weren't
juggling parents and kids and all of those
things to actually like go full pelt.
But now you are in a
different season of life.
You don't have that same bandwidth and
energy, but you have experience and you
have maybe a strength and resilience
that you didn't have in your twenties.
Maybe you have those innate qualities
where you've been through the
experiences, so you know about, you
understand looking at profit and loss.
You understand, um, looking at,
you know, reading spreadsheets
and understanding your numbers.
And couple that with the beauty of AI
with, you know, whether it's Gemini
or ChatGPT or whatever you use to
help you to understand those things.
You are an, at an extraordinary point
in, in the world where you can take
what you know, your knowledge, your
expertise, and make money from it.
And that is something that
is really unique and special
and pretty amazing right now.
And so.
If you are feeling like, ah, I'm
ready to do this, then you know you
can, you don't have to feel like
this is only something that is for
people who are in their twenties.
Anyone can do this.
And because, because we have the
benefits of ai, it can simplify
and streamline what we do.
It's so much easier to create content.
It's so much easier for me to, you
know, like say this video today, I was
a bit brain dead this morning and I was
thinking I need to, you know, create
some videos, but I feel a bit brain
dead and so ChatGPT helped me to come up
with ideas for the content, and so I'm
creating the content, but it's given me
some inspiration, some springboards for
me to go, oh yeah, let's talk about that.
That's a great idea.
And off I go.
And so.
We have these springboards to help us.
And that's the thing that you, in midlife,
you've got that wealth of experience,
you've got that wealth of knowledge.
Plus, you can also take these new
tools and techniques and harness
those to help you to be more,
just be more aligned and in flow.
And actually, while you might
not have the same sort of.
You know, hustle culture that you may have
had, even though the word didn't exist,
but that sort of essence, 20 years ago.
Right now, you can create a simple,
streamlined business that works
for you, that is automated, so you
can manage the things that you do.
And the third piece in
that mix then is the tech.
And so even if you're not very techie,
I would really strongly say that
understanding the tech and having systems
that are simple, rather than trying
to do five different tech platforms
and stick them all together, making it
simple, making it streamlined so that
you can easily build a tech system that
gives you, enables you to do everything
easily and quickly and move within pieces
so it's seamless and straightforward.
And then it means you can manage that
and you've got the capacity to be
there for your children, be there for
your elderly parents, and care for
your loved ones or whatever it is.
And, and you, you can manage
everything because it's a lot.
I get that we don't have the same
bandwidth, but when we really look
at what we want out of life, and
it might not be that we are wanting
the Lamborghini and the bazillions.
But we want a really nice life.
And if that's what you are wanting,
then make your system simple.
Make it streamlined so that you can
create something that works with your
life, that fits your life, rather than
feeling like you've created a monster
of a business that's running your life
and draining your energy and you don't
have the time for those you love.
And also with crazy hormones, you are so
exhausted, you don't know where to start.
So make your life easy.
If you wanna learn more about my
new, I'm just beta testing my new
tech platform that I'm building.
And I'd love to share it with you because
I want to create something that is
really streamlined and simple and I'm
building it for people who are kind of
in midlife and wanting, looking for a
streamlined, simple way for people who.
Don't really love tech and they
want simplicity and building
something just for you.
And we are all about being feminine and,
having a lovely community and creating
something that's nurturing and caring.
If you want to have that, get coaching
calls with me as well, then you can join
the tech platform just 67 pounds a month.
So, it's a real steal, and if that's
