ืฉืืช Shabbos everyone, weโre in the middle of ืกืคืืจืช ืืขืืืจ Sefiras HaOmer. Talmidim of Rabbi Akiva passed away because they didnโt live up to their ืจืื Rebbe's statement of ืืืืืช ืืจืขื ืืืื V'ahavta L'reiacha Kamocha. They didnโt live up to the concept of treating each other appropriately: ืฉืื ื ืืื ืืืื ืื ืืื Shelo Nahagu Kavod Ze Bazeh. And when we try to understand that and try to appreciate it, weโre left bewildered to figure it out. All we know is that thatโs something we have to work on and thatโs the calling of ืกืคืืจืช ืืขืืืจ Sefiras HaOmer, that we need to come together. And thatโs not only on an individual level of ืืืืืช ืืจืขื ืืืื V'ahavta L'reiacha Kamocha, but ultimately as well on a national level, because the goal is to come to Vayichan Sham Yisrael Neged Ha'har, because the ultimate idea is to become one before Hakadosh Baruch Hu. Like the ืืขื ืืชื ืื Baal HaTanya points out in ืคืจืง ื\"ื Perek Lamed Beis, weโre ื ืฉืื ืืืช, ืืืคืื ืืืืืงืื Neshama Achas, Gufin Chulukin. Weโre one soul, just separate in different bodies. Even the ืคืกืืงืื Psukim by ืืขืงื ืืืื ื Yaakov Avinu says, talks about ืฉืืขืื ื ืคืฉ Shivim Nefesh, talks about the 70 people that ืืืฆืื ืืจื ืืขืงื Yotzei Yerech Yaakov. But what does it say? ืืฉืื Lashon of ื ืคืฉ Nefesh, one. Because the ultimate, when youโre serving ืืงืืืฉ ืืจืื ืืื Hakadosh Baruch Hu and everyoneโs serving ืืงืืืฉ ืืจืื ืืื Hakadosh Baruch Hu, youโre considered one. Unlike by ืขืฉืื Esav, when it says ืืืงื ืขืฉืื ืืช ืื ื ืคืฉืืช ืืืชื Vayikach Esav Es Kol Nafshos Beiso, ื ืคืฉืืช Nafshos, multiple, because when youโre worshipping other gods, youโre not together. ืกืคืืจืช ืืขืืืจ Sefiras HaOmer is about building ourselves, itโs about improving ourselves, but itโs not enough to improve ourselves; we have to improve ourselves as a nation and bring ourselves closer and closer and closer together. How do we do that? Well maybe one way we can is to appreciate something the ืคืกืืง Pasuk in this week's ืคืจืฉื Parsha tells us. The ืคืกืืง Pasuk in this week's ืคืจืฉื Parsha says ืืื ืชืืืื ืืช ืฉื ืงืืฉื V'lo Sechalelu Es Shem Kodshi. Talks about ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem. ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem, we feel, we think itโs only being ืืืื ืฉื ืฉืืื Mechalel Shem Shamayim, itโs only bringing a disgrace to ืืงืืืฉ ืืจืื ืืื Hakadosh Baruch Hu. But itโs wrong. A ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem is ืคืืืข ืืขื ืืฉืจืื Pogea B'am Yisrael. Itโs ืคืืืข Pogea with, in us. Itโs a ืคืื Pegam, itโs a deficiency. And what we need to do is not only prevent ourselves, but we have to do the opposite and be ืืงืืฉ ืฉื ืฉืืื Mekadesh Shem Shamayim. The best way of trying to do that may be the idea, you know we always, in every single one of the ืืืขืืื Moadim it says ืฉืขืืจ ืขืืื ืืืืืช Se'ir Izim L'Chatas. We bring a ืฉืขืืจ ืขืืื Se'ir Izim for a ืืืืช Chatas. The only one we donโt is by ืฉืืืขืืช Shavuos. Why is that? Because ืฉืืืขืืช Shavuos we learn ืชืืจื Torah. And if thereโs anything that can be ืืืคืจ Mechafer for ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem, itโs learning ืชืืจื Torah appropriately. Itโs learning ืชืืจื Torah the way we need to be learning ืชืืจื Torah. During ืกืคืืจืช ืืขืืืจ Sefiras HaOmer we have to come together. We have to ensure that this is not going to be a ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem. And unfortunately, unfortunately in these days there are so many opportunities that people take, I don't want to say advantage of, but to make a ืืืืื ืืฉื Chillul Hashem. We have to be ืืงืืฉ ืฉื ืฉืืื Mekadesh Shem Shamayim. We have to bring the biggest ืงืืืืฉ ืฉื ืฉืืื Kiddush Shem Shamayim. But when we do that, we can do it through learning ืชืืจื Torah, showing respect to one another, but certainly continuing and be ืืืืง Mechazek ourselves in learning ืชืืจื Torah, so ultimately we get to ืฉืืืขืืช Shavuos, we can celebrate, we can celebrate the ืงืืืช ืืชืืจื Kabbalas HaTorah. Because truthfully, isn't it interesting, we say it's ืืื ืืชื ืชืืจืชื ื Zeman Matan Toraseinu, we don't say it's ืืื ืงืืืช ืชืืจืชื ื Zeman Kabbalas Toraseinu. Why? Because it's not only about receiving, it's about giving. And you can only give once you've learned. ืืขืืจืช ืืฉื Be'ezras Hashem we should be ืืืื Zoche to continue to appreciate ืขื ืืฉืจืื Am Yisrael, to appreciate each other, to appreciate the ืืืืืช Gadlus of ืขื ืืฉืจืื Am Yisrael, to appreciate that concept of being one ื ืคืฉ Nefesh, and ultimately with that we should be ืืืื Zoche to a true ืงืืืช ืืชืืจื Kabbalas HaTorah, which will allow us to continue giving the ืชืืจื Torah to everyone else around us and continuing being ืืงืืฉ ืฉื ืฉืืื Mekadesh Shem Shamayim. Have a beautiful ืฉืืช Shabbos.
